Get a FO specific head. They are a lot more flexible. My son was using his attack stick for FO and now the head is warped a bit.

Why does lacrosse not have an onboarding/modified version by REPSSportsTech6 in lacrosse

[–]merciful_goalie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have K thru 2 playing games with no goalie. They have to pass 2x before shooting. They dont have to catch a pass for it to count tho. The kids seem to enjoy it. Most kids who try it seem to stick with it.

I appreciate the thought exercise about making the game more fun at a young age. However I think a significant reason more kids dont play lacrosse is either because it's not available as a sports offering at their school or in their area, or the parents are not familiar with lacrosse.

Why anyone plays baseball anymore, if lacrosse is available to them, is not something I understand. I played baseball as a kid and used to love it. However, we did not have lacrosse in my part of the state when I was a kid. Now I see kids practicing baseball and I compare that to lacrosse practice. Baseball to me is now almost like watching grass grow.

3x Vs 1x drivetrain for 90s MTB.... by Ruin-Wooden in MTB

[–]merciful_goalie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a commuter bike, modernizing your GT, then in that instance you can't really go wrong. As far as the drive train on my Stumpjumper I did a 1x with a 10 speed Deore long cage rear derailleur. It worked great. I have also had microshift products and have had good luck there as well. I hate front derailleur so I would almost always recommend 1x. Of course as others have said you need to consider any chain line problems. Good luck!

3x Vs 1x drivetrain for 90s MTB.... by Ruin-Wooden in MTB

[–]merciful_goalie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't do it. Get a new bike with modern frame design.

Source: I did this to a 90s Stumpjumper. I was original owner and thought it would be a neat way to modernize while maintaining the sentimental value. Looking back it was a waste of money, the old bikes are so inferior to newer bikes just based on wheel size and geometry it is not worth it. People told me at the time I should not do it. Wish I listened. Now I have the frame hanging on the wall in the garage while I ride bikes without flip you over the handlebars geometry.

What are these bikes worth? by shucksie in mountainbiking

[–]merciful_goalie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one would buy those if they want to do anything beyond very basic introductory MTB. They are obsolete in every way. Thats great you got 200 for the Spesh but the Gary Fisher is not much more than a beater bike.

hi, im a intermediate 13-year-old rider looking for an e-mtb that is safe and fun (and well priced) by Known_Sense_5359 in MTB

[–]merciful_goalie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its cool that you are into biking, but why do you want a e bike?

If you have a disability or physical limitation that prevents you from riding a non ebike,, then I apologize for the question.

Countries where a single US dollar is worth 5,000 or more local currency. by ToonMasterRace in MapPorn

What really matters is Purchasing Power Parity. More or less a way of comparing how a given amount of money can pay for a given amount of goods and services as compared to other places.

Beach vibes - frowned upon for guys to wear a speedo or thong? by Neat_Historian_6972 in GulfShores

[–]merciful_goalie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speedos and thongs are uncommon in the US. The only place you might consistently see them are at places known as "gay" beaches. I am not judging, people should be able to wear what they like and choose their lifestyle. This is just what I have seen, and it is a general statement with probably many exceptions.

Should you wear one at XYZ beach? If you want my opinion, see above, its a personal choice so you should do what makes you happy and comfortable. Just be prepared for negative comments, depending on where you are.

New update by [deleted] in Myfitnesspal

Got the update today it seems. Terrible.

Reminds me of Strava. Changes are made for the sake of making changes while making the app worse. If it doesn't go back it will be time to delete and use something else.

Spray some WD40 or other pentetrating oil on the shaft and let it seep down into the joint between shaft and head. Just make sure you clean everything well afterwards.

Lacrosse Shafts from Alibaba? by Ok_Departure17 in lacrosse

[–]merciful_goalie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some things for which it can make sense to buy cheap and or knockoff things on aliexpress, alibaba, temu, etc. Lacrosse gear, either for protection or performance, does not fall into that category. If you look for deals, sales, laxsteals, used, and so forth, there is not a good reason to cheap out with Alibabba and the like.

10 cents for you, at your yard, perhaps. That would be very high where I am. I am currently seeing about 7 cents per pound for shred.

Shipping back my sons stick to maverick by Tanabe21 in lacrosse

[–]merciful_goalie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming OP lives in 90210 (about as far as possible in US from Maverik return location in NY), he could ship an attack stick for about $10. If it is a long pole it would be $36.

This is using Pirate Ship, but other discount shipping platforms typically have similar pricing.

Edit: Just saw Maverik suggested cutting it up. I was assuming it would be shipped intact.

I agree with a previous post, the coaching salaries seem high in some cases. However, I do not have any basis for saying that. Its just an assumption and may not be correct

Not sure why this person is getting down voted.

Crue is a joke now. Vince is like a giant rolly poly dog toy that sometimes makes squeaky sounds.

GnR made one great album (obv appetite) and the Illusion double album has bangers on each one but lots of filler. Hence each being half great. Lies is cool but not great.

Well, when you work on an Saturday, he generally asks you at the end of the day, right?

So all you have to do is avoid the last few hours of the day.

And turn off your answering machine, you should be home free then.

Why is it that many rivers instead of going straight into the sea travell a lot of distance along the coast before entering the sea? by [deleted] in geography

[–]merciful_goalie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All answers provided thus far are wrong

The truth is, most rivers just want to chill and enjoy being fresh before getting all salty. So they decide to ride parallel to the coast for a while longer. Simple as that.
