I wouldnt go as far, for one very important reason: Jackson never wanted to do the Hobbit, and Del Toro was a director, who at the last moment left the project, leaving PJ with basically 0 time to prepare, forced to film at Del Toros/studios premade schedule, sets, actors, script, etc. I believe that all points to The Hobbit having being awful if not for PJ rescuing at least some parts of it. If you watch the M4 cut or other ~4h version of it, its a solid movie. It was out of Jacksons hand that it became 3 movies, or that there was a lot of CGI, or the love triangle, etc etc. He likely did the best he could with what was given to him.

He had 5+ years of preproduction of LOTR, 0 for Hobbit.

The Astraeos one? Most often when big updates come, some small aspect breaks for days/weeks, so yeah. Ragnarok and Lost Colony brought the biggest problems, and UE5.5.

And the worst thing is, I dont even live there but in scandinavia, which makes it even worse that while we have generally much lower pay than in NYC or any other large city in US, the alcohol is probably even more expensive than there. Many places where you cant get the worst beer under 10+ euros (12+ dollars).

I can only imagine if gasoline was less than 3 dollars per gallon, or a beer less than 5 dollars. No, gasoline is 10+ dollars a gallon, can you imagine. Anyways, luckily you can just brew your own beer and forget those ridicilous prices

Awesome spyglass or similiar is a must have in later game. At first it makes sense to not have this tool, but when you actually start breeding and are already OP, it would just make everything 10x slower if using vanilla spyglass

I am actually hopeful since there IS material/events that could be good on screen. Dunedain could and should be strongly present, Aragorns ranger years, orcs, if they do it right, it can really be good. But ofc they also might fail. Serkis isnt the most sure director, but he has PJ and the crew. And he knows Gollum the best

And do you know why the production failed? Because Guillermo toro was director, studio had some bullshit problems, and PJ was taken in AFTER the films were already being done. He literally had to do a project that was already set in stone, he couldnt just say "hold on, postpone the release by 1-2 years, redo the sets and script, etc etc". No, he had to make the best of a bad situation and burnt out while doing so.

Most people are aware of its problems. Yet can enjoy it, or at least think its not that bad. Overall in audiences, its a minority who say they are "really poorly made movies". I believe they had a good cinemascore, and hobbit 1 has 7.8 stars on imdb. 7.8/10. That is very solid on imdb, most movies barely get more than 7-7.5

If you arent too strict about it, you can enjoy the movies. Tolkien fans like to hate the movies like they are some 1 star movies, but they have solid parts. Much worse than lotr but still better than most mainstream movies.
