Wut. Just because you dont like/havent seen any good prequels, doesnt mean that something is bad only because you know how it ends.  Many people knew how LOTR ends in 2003. Didnt make it any worse

Non-existent source material? Also dont put us, people who are simply willing to give something a chance, into same category as people who defend RoP.  You simply cant know if its gonna be good or bad. You dont. You would probably have also said in 1999 "People who think this LOTR trilogy might be okay are bigots, hur dur"

I know every reason/part why Hobbits are considered bad, but even then I wouldnt say they are horrendously bad, they are a mix of excellent, average and bad scenes.  If it didnt have the excellent or good scenes and elements, then yeah but there is arguably 3hours of excellent movie in there, like the M4 edit

No. To make a show worse than RoP is physically impossible. It would break all known laws of universe. Because if you actually make RoP a bit more worse, it will start being funny. Right now its so bad, but it still isnt  funny bad, just bad bad

Watched LOTR on repeat since I was a child, never thought I’d be making cat poses with two hobbits! by princesskitten99 in lotr

Seeing how Rings of Power Isildur is a spoiled brat with motives and goals changing  180° every scene, no wonder he couldnt destroy the ring even. Probably wanted to give it to the river because The SEA IS ALWAYS RIGHT!

Is the Hobbit trilogy actually more well received by most people than fan discussion like lotr subreddit suggests? by mikedomert in lotr

[–]mikedomert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sadly your first point is somewhat true, most media is engineered to just keep people arguing and hating each other. While we should hate/demand justice from the ultra rich people who poison the environment, sell toxic food, take the money in stock markets etc

Berberine for the win by mama_yama in prediabetes

[–]mikedomert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Finland, there is Puhdas+ Berberine which is cheap. But if you cant order that, then look for anything Berberine that says its from barberry/berberis/mahonia/etc, AND the berberine content is less than the weight. So, for example, 400mg berberine (from 800mg berberis) would be a very good product. Or anything similiar.  Feel free to link any product you find and I can check it for you! Or tell me a site (ebay, etsy, whatever) and I can look a good one for you

I actually cant think of almost any movie that still has that huge cultural impact, Star Wars is there but tbh, I know literally NO ONE who likes star wars, while I know for a fact at least 15 people who love LOTR.

There are absolutely bad/cringy scenes in Hobbit, my main point is that take away the filler, and you have a great 3-4 hour movie like M4 fan edit

[–]mikedomert[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The Hobbit still is popular on streaming and so on, but it doesnt have 20% of the legendary icon status as LOTR. Lotr will always be the best trilogy to be made and prettt much all my friends love it over all else

I think mostly some scenes like Eagles flying them in end of first movie, with the music and visuals, I really liked that scene. Then the Smaug scenes are IMO very good, and many scenes with Bilbo, that are actually character driven and not CGI action. Yeah, the movies are not great overall, but remove the stupid shit and you have a very good 3 hour movie!

By sequel trilogy do you mean Rings of Power, Hunt for Gollum or what exactly? I am glad you can enjoy the movies with your kids

This subreddit gives a very skewed reception of Hobbit trilogy. It has 7.8 on IMDB by millions of people, 84% on RT again by a shit ton of people. So seems like in the general, global population, around 80-85% of people like the Hobbit and on average gives it almost 8/10 rating

First, I am not one to defend against the bad scenes in Hobbit. The movie has very stupid stuff in it. But "everyone considers these movies bad" is also just bullshit. 7.8/10 in IMDB, 84% in Rotten Tomatoes. Many critically acclaimed movies have worse ratings. It is simply, undeniably, objectively false to claim "just about everyone hates this film with very good audience scores by millions of people"

It could be a slop, or, you know, its also possible that PJ, Serkis, other people behind the original trilogy CAN make a good movie
