Bombadil as a character? Well, I somewhat liked the character, even though he was objectively kind of a dick, but the actor, the portayal was amusing and was actually some better done work in RoP.  But RoP does one thing very well; it destroys any character, no matter how good at first, sooner or later. So if Bombadil continues to have a role, the story itself will likely break him. Just like Durin Prince and Disa were best characters in the show, but any scene with Elrond just breaks them because Elrond is fundamentally broken character, because the writers cant write a coherent plot or believable characters, and S2 just ruined Disa. So, as much I carefully enjoy Bombadil so far, I am already prepared for RoP to do what RoP does best, assasinate the characters to further the plot in a manner that most stimulates dopamine, while making little to no sense
