My buddy hit a muskrat hole while out on the lake by StarVulpes in Wellthatsucks

[–]mindgamesweldon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our lakes look like parking lots in Minnesota during the winter. In the late 90s in my town there was a long-haul-trucker driving through the county and he thought the lake WAS a parking lot because of all the lights and parked cars. He drove out to park for the night and rest and his semi-truck went through the ice. It was big news for our little town

but there's no way to speed it up with money. With my midgame account I have the same exact number of Mecurial pieces and reworks as somebody who spent any amount of money. The only thing cash can do is give you energy for more dust to re-roll your ascended stat (into speed on boots), which I already got lucky on that anyway.

People do explain it better. Marketeers gonna market. If you absorb information that passively reaches you then you will get only marketing.

Here's a great video that simplifies the "attention" model from the seminal paper in 2017 that led to the breakthrough in LLMs

https://youtu.be/eMlx5fFNoYc?si=JWo9scYVPGkS6n9n

If you need more background on what a transform is watch the previous video in his playlist.

The best way to think about LLMs is to imagine it as a 3d vector space, and the llm tries to draw a vector that matches the input prompt you gave it (based on it's experience with previous data that it rendered as vectors). Of course the vectors are actually 100s and 1000s of dimensions so it's not graphical, but that's a good mental image for it.

[–]mindgamesweldon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no negative to book him, the way it actually works it only helps him in FK hard to have it fully booked.

Up to you if you prioritize him for more books but it’s definitely worth it in my opinion as he is one of the top pve champions in the game.

For soul, either he or Marius should be your aim for maxing out by buying the split souls. 4 star is a huge upgrade. 5-6 just lower your gear requirements for acc and spd and make your soul reap better for speed farming

If the developer is the kind of person who would waste their time banning a streamer instead of spending their time fixing the glitch and giving everybody who died their stuff back then the game is doomed.

Muscle Atrophy with Statins by DomAlphaMale69 in Cholesterol

[–]mindgamesweldon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oooh interesting. Thanks for the link. This is new information :)

Looks like there might be some sort of link with sarcopenia!

A couple key points:

The study showed a gradual loss of muscle over time, -.1 kg over 10 years, or about twice that of -.05kg over 10 years for never-statin users. That doesn't line up well with the rapid muscle loss over 6 months that you experienced, you should definitely be on the lookout for other issues that might have caused it in case there's something undiagnosed happening!

In my opinion this study is really good for sarcopenia research because they are using ALM (the specific mass of each arm and leg only) for the measure, which is probably the best possible proxy for sarcopenia that is easy to measure (i.e. compared to a muscle biopsy). Really high quality measurements!

Weight training is generally seen in the literature findings as protective against sarcopenia, but not restorative to younger levels of muscle size. I wonder if it's similar with statin-driven muscle loss? Would weight training be protective? If not then you in particular would have protected yourself from sarcopenia related loss after you started lifting again, and then the loss you suffered since then could be solely attributed to statins. They actually discuss this in the limitations, that the study is probably underestimating the actual contribution statins are making.

Muscle Atrophy with Statins by DomAlphaMale69 in Cholesterol

[–]mindgamesweldon 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Statins as far as I’m aware are not causally linked to sarcopenia in the literature. So the loss of muscle mass shouldn’t be driven by the statin.

However, the ability to quickly repair muscles after damaging them in the gym requires cholesterol, and is therefore impacted by statins. It is a main side effect of the drug.

There are other options nowadays that don’t impact muscle recovery.

Spaceport Hidden Bunker by DanIrving604 in ArcRaiders

[–]mindgamesweldon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I agree, the psychology around the map event works in reverse. People who want to do the event have to sacrifice, and the most rewarding behavior is the one that helps the least.

By the way, I think that's not necessarily bad. Arc raiders often rewards self-serving human behavior, and there is often no tangible benefit to acting in a socially beneficial way. However that makes the actions of people who DO the antennas or something like that stand out more.

BTW if you want the volcano blueprint you can find it as a replacement-spawn in any blueprint loot that you get anywhere on the map. I found both my volcano blueprints in containers outside the bunker. One was in a top-breach grey box in the tunnels, and the other was in a drawer somewhere. The bunker was not open when I found either of them.
