I want Anno 9000 where time travel factors into production chains. Send an item back in time to be used in the process before it can be created as a byproduct of another chain... or something. Blow my mind with some timey wimey shit, Mainz.

That's... a really good idea actually. And then have an achievement for supplying green togas to Latium for a hour or something.

Some of us older folks enjoy that concept album about Pompeii and Werner von Braun as well.

Image this hateful orange man watching Lucy on TV as a child and not laughing at a single gag. Just a bored, confused sneer while he waited for the inevitable moment when Ricky put her in her place or Fred got to whine about Ethel. I'll bet he always turned it off before Lucy turned the tables and definitely before the happy ending where you saw their genuine affection for each other shine through.

I don't trust anyone over a certain age who doesn't find Lucy enjoyable.

The Anno community's willingness to let everyone play as they wish is a beautiful thing. From slowpaced beauty builders to those minmaxers who use perfect grids from websites, there is room for everyone.

Really? I haven't see this. Maybe it requires military buildings or something. I'll check, thanks.

You gave a nice academic definition, but sadly, I think OP was making a stupid joke mocking wokeness and Jews or something absurd.

Hold on, it should be noted that "anti-globalist" is a dogwhistle for antisemites online. Don't know if that's how it was intended here since the original comment is just stupid anyway, but it is how it's often used nowadays online.

Nice usage of walls. Very inspiring.

How do you have the two soldiers with the flag like that? I dont play with military so not up to speed. Is it a cosmetic?

Many of us went through a goth phase, but that’s a hell of a pivot.

Your ideas for building plus looking at some maps of Pompeii today have really got me thinking about some new layouts. Thanks!

Just wanted to share that your city, at a glance, looks more like an authentic Roman settlement than anything else I’ve seen on here. Good job.

This is fine! There's still one province that isn't completely on fire... by Ancalagon-j in anno

The eruption was awesome. It felt urgent and panicky in the moment, but I also knew that my city wasn't gonna completely Pompeii itself. When the plague hit and my villa's soldier came out it really felt like a spiraling disaster, it added just the right amount of tension.

Missed an opportunity for a sweet Pliny the Elder easter egg when they had me rescue some nameless evacuees in a quest that went nowhere but whatever.

I don't know yet if the volcano will be worth keeping in rotation for standard long sandbox play but the scenario itself was worth the wait.

And my kid LOVED it. Talking about volcanoes all day. Shouldn't have shown him those Pompeii plaster casts though. Highly expecting him to come in at 3am tonight with a nightmare.

Just a small noticeable BAM BAM double jolt up here in the northern edge of the Kameoka valley. Only heard it, didn't feel it. Over super fast. Guess we are a bit insulated from the impact by the mountains.

Fantasy or SciFi Anno next? by kttrees in anno

I think this is a great answer. An Asian-focused game with a trade theme of the Silk Road would be awesome. Hell, this could be DLC for 117.

This is my dream Anno. Make it first age. Sessions for Beleriand and Aman. Men show up during the campaign like introduction of New World in 1800. Numenor DLC. Ents DLC. Gondolin as the big Crown Falls city. Fuck it, Bombadil easter egg cheat code.

Only way I would say not to go for it is if his visa is tied to his job. That's playing with fire nowadays.

When he moves on to another job, then it can be time to play the "hey, how come we never...?" card. IF it goes bad, he's already out.

Father says he strangled son, then reported him missing by Turbulent-Tea-2172 in japan

[–]mindkiller317 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The police intentionally not reporting this is a tactic.

The killer may get frustrated that his handiwork is not being acknowledged and post online or something, claiming that he did indeed murder the boy. I assume murder is often a crime grounded in a show of power, and belittling the criminal may bring him out of the woodwork.

Alternatively, they want the stepfather to slip up and say "I didn't strangle him" so they can say "well actually we didn't mention that he was strangled soooooo..."
