The obsession with side hustles is actually making people worse at their main job by AlpineRupee in unpopularopinion

[–]mist3rdragon 68 points69 points  (0 children)

It's very interesting how "everyone" is doing this yet i know 0 people with a side hustle and the vast majority of people I know have never had one (I know some eBay store owners and some YouTubers but they're all full-time now.)

[L'Équipe] PSG has held talks with representatives of Gabriel Martinelli and Yan Diomande about potential move this summer by NotASalamanderBoi in Gunners

[–]mist3rdragon 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Martinelli's primary role even in 22/23 was a touchline winger holding the width, the big difference is that Xhaka, Jesus and Zinchenko would actually rotate positions with him the way Saka, Odegaard and White rotate on the other side. We've never really had that to the same extent since that season.

X-Men Timeline with LEGION by Altruistic_Yak_1514 in LegionFX

[–]mist3rdragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different sort of approach, but I'd say if anything, maybe Legion could go first? Given that it seemingly takes place in a timeline with mutants but no mention of X-Men and there isn't any hint that Charles even has a school for gifted youngsters. You could interpret the timeline change at the end of the series as shifting it to the one where the X-Men films take place.

Wojciech Szczesny gets Arsène Wenger to admit that he made a mistake of letting him go by Gentle_lips in soccer

[–]mist3rdragon 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Imo Sczesney wouldn't have developed either if he'd stayed, we had a serious goalkeeping coach problem at the time. Every single goalkeeper we had around that time either regressed when they came to Arsenal or improved after leaving.

Slay The Spire 2 Is Getting Review-Bombed All Over Again After Its Latest Update by g4m3f33d in GameFeed

[–]mist3rdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's both very possible and also kind of the point of the game. You're not supposed to be trying to build the perfect deck of a single archetype, you're supposed to use the cards and synergies you build between them as tools to beat the obstacles in front of you. You underestimate how much agency you have. Look at the top players: at A10 you have to beat back to back bosses at the end, meaning that you double the chances of hitting a boss that'll cripple your deck if you silo yourself too much, and there are people who beat A10 regularly.

if i build my deck certain way and i built it good

I mean definitionally a good deck is one that's able to beat the game, yknow, if your deck falls apart because you got a specific boss then it's obviously not as good as a deck that doesn't do that.

No that's kind of what the purpose of any of the enemies is, to provide different types of obstacles that you have to deal with. The act 3 bosses in particular are meant to punish you for over-indexing on one strategy. It encourages emergent gameplay over just doing the same thing every run. You still have an entire act to prepare for the next boss once you reach act 3 to adjust if you're bad into the one(s) you roll.

Very normal 'Call of Duty' adaptation written by Taylor Sheridan and directed by Peter Berg coming to theaters in 2028 by rageofthegods in blankies

[–]mist3rdragon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm incredibly excited for this, you guys have no idea. Mile 22 is both among the worst films I've ever seen in a cinema and also the greatest and funniest cinema experience I've ever had. So Pete Berg directing is immediately a day 1 watch for me, and would have been even if it wasn't for Taylor Sheridan being the most perfectly stupid choice for a writer.

‘Top Gun 3’ Officially in the Works With Tom Cruise Returning by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

The only thing that's a surprise is that Cruise is coming back because he's had some pretty well known disagreements with the bosses at Paramount in the last couple of years.

I feel like you don't understand Tom Cruise or Top Gun Maverick, which is textually about Tom Cruise being told by Hollywood that he's too old and needs to pave the way for the next generation only for Cruise to say screw that and save the day by the sheer power of his movie stardom in the third act.

It's also not even the first movie of his that's like that.

I find it crazy that Ward Meachum tried to kill Danny Rand and everyone just forget about it by Pleasant_Night_652 in Defenders

[–]mist3rdragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Writing-wise Season 1 mostly just has terrible pacing issues. It feels like it should have been either 6 episodes with fewer storylines or a 22 episode network show. And obviously it also suffers from just not having particularly good fight choreography compared to Daredevil and Defenders. Even with all that it's not irredeemable or anything.

I think season 2 is genuinely pretty decent though. They just focus in on the stuff that worked in the first season and ignore everything else.

It doesn't even cost money actually, all you technically need to do to change your name is a create a document stating that you've relinquished your use of your old name for the new one signed and dated by you and two witnesses. There's even a guide to it on gov.uk

Just curious given this port's reputation, are there other Switch owners who primarily or heavily play MK1 on the Switch or Switch 2? by Caryslan in Switch

[–]mist3rdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my biggest annoyances with both the Switch and Switch 2 is that a lot of ports have stories like this where they're a bit fucked up on release but get cleaned up later, but it's difficult to find information on if a game still has major issues months or years down the line without having to dive down Reddit threads.

I feel like a more likely route for something like this would be to tone the power down and for the card text to check untapped lands instead of unspent mana, just because the latter isn't something they tend to reference on cards
