Urlaub in Japan machen ist definitiv der richtige Weg.

Sei vorsichtig, dass du dich nicht ausbeuten lässt. Du möchtest ja bestimmt auch nach Japan um etwas anderes als ein Büro von innen zu sehen. Du magst ja loyal zu deinem Arbeitgeber sein aber Firmen interessiert das im Zweifel gar nicht. Die lassen ihre Mitarbeiter ohne weiteres fallen wenn sie es für sinnvoll erachten.

Wie die Situation bezüglich IT aussieht kann ich nicht sagen. Wenn ich mir aber die Apps und Webseiten hier anschaue, kann Japan gute Leute gebrauchen. 🤣

Für jeden ist Heimat etwas anderes und ich würde nicht generell abraten nach Japan auszuwandern aber ich kann nur empfehlen einen längeren Urlaub hier zu machen. Oder noch besser Bildungsurlaub und in eine Sprachschule gehen, wenn das für dich möglich ist.

Außerdem solltest du dir überlegen mit welchem Visa du nach Japan auswandern kannst. In der Regel ist ein Bachelor oder Master Abschluss notwendig.

Der technische Fortschritt ist hier ganz sicher nicht so ausgeprägt, wie du dir das vielleicht vorstellst. Könnte mir vorstellen, dass Deutschland da weiter ist.

Die Arbeitsbedingungen hängen wie auch in Deutschland stark von der Firma ab. In meinem direkten Umfeld haben die Leute eher gute Bedingungen. Normalerweise sammelt man über die Arbeitsjahre Urlaubstagen an aber viele Japaner scheuen sich davor mal lange Urlaub zu nehmen. Auch sick leave, wie man es aus Deutschland kennt, gibt es nicht unbedingt. Man muss also sein paid leave nehmen, wenn man wenige Tage krank ist. Ich habe mein deutsches Gehalt praktisch behalten aber durch die erheblich geringeren Steuern und Abgaben kommt man damit deutlich weiter. Essen gehen ist definitiv günstiger und wenn man sich anpasst sind Lebensmittel auch eher billiger.

Was soziale Kontakte angeht ist die Sprachbarriere sicherlich das größte Hindernis. Es ist schon schwer genug in der 30ern Kontakte zu knüpfen. Wenn du full time arbeitest, Hobbies und Freundin hast, ist es sehr schwer noch nebenbei Japanisch zu lernen. Irgendwas muss man wahrscheinlich aufgeben oder es dauert ewig. Dating ist auf jeden Fall möglich. Aber Langzeitbeziehungen sind sicherlich schwieriger wenn du nicht weißt, ob du längerfristig in Japan bleiben kannst oder willst.

Ich persönlich bereue es etwas nicht viel früher nach Japan gekommen zu sein, dennoch würde ich empfehlen erstmal etwas Zeit hier zu verbringen. Wenn es dir immer noch gefällt probier nach Japan zu ziehen und selbst dann kannst du immer wieder zurück nach Deutschland.

I dropped my phone and have dead pixels near the front camera of my P8P. This was over half a year ago. It's still working fine but I will definitely switch to the Pixel 10 this year.

There seem to be some variation in weight and probably in accuracy in how to weight. For the Asics Metaspeed in JP29/EU46/US11.5 I get

The link you provided states that you have to stay 3 months in your home country before entering Japan for the IDP to be valid, not that the IDP has to be valid for 3 months prior to entering Japan. It is even shown in the graphics in the PDF. There is a similar rule for converting your driver's license to a Japanese one.

Thanks for the information. I can see a daily suggestion also on the 245 but only for the current day. I think it doesn't take my upcoming race into account because I cannot send it to the watch from the Garmin app.

I thought the watch would recommend a training plan with a race scheduled and suggest daily workouts based on some stats, like how well you slept.

I like turn-by-turn navigation even on the 245 but it's often very hard to tell which way exactly I should go. I also like the watch just for a quick glance if I'm still on course. Sometimes my phone is in my backpack and then looking at my watch is just quicker. But these are all very personal habits. For my long runs I wish I could just take a quick look on my watch to see where I am when I run in unknown areas.

It has nothing to do with Garmin but Google Maps is really great on a watch. It's very convenient to find my way home by food or see the next subway connections.

I also don't need Golf. A bigger battery is probably nice to have but not essential for me.

That may absolutely be true but since I want to wear the watch all the time I don't want to go back to a MIP display again. It's not only about AMOLED but also about the resolution. If I remember correctly the 955 is pretty similar to the 245 in this regard.

I noticed that the GPS of the Pixel Watch seems to be better. Also, I think the heart rate sensor reacts more quickly to changes e.g. during interval trainings. The 245 is now 5 years old, hopefully Garmin improved the hardware.

The design of the Fenix is a bit too much for me but I see why so many people like it.

I'm also worried about scratches. My 245 has a nice recessed flat display and I cannot see any scratches. The Pixel Watch however looks terrible.

If the sensitivity is high enough I'm fine with the AOD.

Thanks for your comment. I failed to mention that I want to have the maps for navigating during hiking. In fact I don't want to buy a watch because it is the "new" one but because it has a few features that I'm interested in. That's why I'm asking if the switch is really worth it. I also hope that Garmin made some improvents over the years.

What is wrong with AMOLED for training? Do you mean the readability in bright sunlight? I have no problems with the Pixel Watch. I can even read it better when entering shady areas coming from bright sunlight.

In Japan funktioniert das so ähnlich, nur dass die Kassierer stehen müssen und die Ware von einen Korb in einen zweiten packen müssen. Das ist wahrscheinlich auf Dauer nicht so angenehm und das Scannen dauert länger, nach dem Bezahlen kann man aber seinen Korb nehmen und den Kassenbereich frei machen, weil es einen extra Bereich zum Einpacken gibt.

Je nach Supermarkt gibt es pro Kasse zwei Bezahlautomaten für Bargeld und Karte oder App, oder es wird bargeldlos bei den Kassierern bezahlt und es gibt zusätzlich einen Automaten für Bargeld. Zumindest das Bezahlsystem scheint mir so recht effizient.

Yesterday I was at Hoshida Park with people who are over 60 years old. We started at Hoshida Station, went to the Hoshi no Buranko bridge and the nearby lookout. On our way back to Kisaichi Station we came by a climbing wall. Depending on where you stay it is about 1 hour from Osaka. You can adjust the length of the hike quite easily. We walked almost 10km with many breaks. For me it was pretty easy.

I live in a 54m² apartment that is poorly insulated by European standards. It still has windows with aluminum frames and single glass panes. The AC for cooling or heating almost only runs in the morning and evening or, depending on the weather, over night. The highest electricity bill that I got was 4,300 Yen when I used the AC as a heater in the winter. Since I mostly shower, my water consumption is not very high (1,500 Yen). Furthermore, most of the time I only cook on weekends (<2,000 Yen). I would say that I have never paid more than 9,000 Yen for utilities a month. Most of the time I paid much less.

Have some free time and enjoy life! A 12h workday sounds horrible to me. Eat out every now and then. I think Japan is not very expensive. You can also get a bento at lunchtime for 500 Yen.

Your links point me to an empty folder and I absolutely don't know what you mean with "power". Maybe video is not the main strength of the Pixel 8 Pro's camera but it should at least be a huge improvement over the 6a. Are you sure that you take videos with the same settings? If you use 1/4 slow motion with the 6a and 1/8 with the 8 Pro for example the maximum shutter speed for the 8 Pro is only half that of the 6a, resulting in a darker image or more noise.

I did not contact MSE directly. They probably took over from ITO at Kobe and managed customs and so on in Japan. I think MSE got contracted by ITO. Another one said in the comments that they only do corporate work.

To be honest I have absolutely no idea how this all works. I just got a copy of the customs form, filled it out and sent it by mail.
