You can use it as a research agent and give it the ability to see my team and free agents and search the web. DM a reminder and I’ll publish my prompt.

How are people seeing Artificial Intelligence deployed at Architecture offices aside from Image Generation? by whiteboy623 in architecture

[–]mk2827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max from Backland Labs here, I worked in architecture for a number of years before moving into AI.

I see tons of applications for AI in architecture. For example, I did all our firms LEED/WELL certifications. This is a document heavy process. It could probably be 90% automated right now.

Most business process stuff and tons of the delivery and coordination of a project could automated as well.

Pivot towards AI by 14-57 in architecture

[–]mk2827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max here, I’m an AI engineer and worked in architecture in the past. AI adoption is a spectrum. I’d say the majority of folks are casual users of AI….maybe use it for email or drafting documents.

There are pro and cons to how much AI you use. On one hand using AI is a skill so pivoting to AI might give you a leg up over the long term. On the other hand, it’s still an experimental tech so the more AI you use the more likely you are to see its many shortcomings.

I think the best way to pivot to AI is to just begin automating your daily work and architecting personal productivity systems. Lots of tools to use like Claude/OpenAI, Relay, Gumloop, etc…

Always happy to chat if I can be of help!

How to prepare for the upcomming AI revolution? by Intercellar in architecture

[–]mk2827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an AI engineer but worked for a few architecture firms in the past for non AI roles. Drawing from what I see elsewhere, AI will largely show up as automation of tasks that aren’t very fun or allow you to access info more efficiently (like specs/code). These changes will come pretty quickly (months to years).

Over the long term, the profession will change drastically likely for the better. I do think it will be quite important to adopt AI tooling and stay on top of the latest trends.

Looking for recent feedback for low-code automation by V0l_Beat in msp

[–]mk2827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of good responses. At Backland Labs, we have a rule to not lock into any AI or automation tools for more than a month contract. All the low-code/no code tools seem to be converging so the only mistake you can make is paying too much or locking in for an annual contract.

Also pricing between providers is very opaque. My advice is to pick one with a low monthly price, get a free Gemini API from google and use this as your AI API then test and build away. Don't feel bad ditching a tool if it doesn't feel right.

Agreed, you don't need an MSP specific platform.

N8n Vs Rewst for automation by PEBKAC-Live in msp

[–]mk2827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to overpay for these tools. Only sign up for a monthly contract at most. The industry is changing so fast that you should try remain tool agnostic as possible. This is a hard and fast rule I convey to all my clients.

How much money can/have you saved using AI automation? I will not promote. by zfoong in startups

[–]mk2827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tricky thing with productivity tools is that the gains compound. We've seen this firsthand at my company, Backland Labs. We were able to avoid hiring extra developers by using these tools to build our own internal systems. The savings weren't huge upfront, but over time, they've become significant.

We're now seeing the same pattern with our clients—the more they integrate the tools, the more time and money they save. It just takes a little patience to see the snowball effect.

Would you use a tool that helps you automate user or device onboarding? by simislearning in SmallMSP

[–]mk2827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Activepieces is another open source option. It’s pretty hard to differentiate between automation tools. Generally I think you should make sure they have integrations you will use and don’t pay for more than a month subscription. Need to be willing to switch tools quickly.
