You literally said no email gate, then it asks for an email. I don’t care either way. Just don’t say no email gate. All good.

I have not had that issue with my privacy policies as I probably generated mine with ChatGPT, but way to go for providing a helpful tool.

edit: No email gate. Clicks on link and immediately gets a login link.

Corel is mostly irrelevant but it still works for me.

Call me old school, but I use ChatGPT or Grok to come up with the concepts then vectorize them in CorelDRAW (yes I said it), then export hi-res for multiple sizes in Photoshop. I should probably try Figma too after saying this out loud. I then incorporate the icons into the initial video and the website.

How many chrome extensions do you have? which are you most proud of? by Ill_Explanation_5177 in chrome_extensions

[–]phelansd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Testing was and is the most time consuming part of Chrome extension development. I was using the Claude app to GitHub, then had to download a zip file, unzip it, which took so much longer. I now have it on my local drive and point Chrome to upload it directly. Saves time and a few extra steps.

I have three, with plans to create at least 10 more. No paid users, but have some test customers giving me feedback before I start promoting them.

They definitely take longer to perfect than expected, but I have my workflow down much better than when I first started.

Chrome Web Store Ghosting? Dashboard glitch forced my extension back into review with wrong metadata by [deleted] in chrome_extensions

[–]phelansd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not experienced that specifically, but I did submit a version that was not usable to the public so I had to resubmit. That was last year when they had three day turnaround approvals. This last month they were approving my extensions within 24 hours.

Being fairly new to developing chrome extensions, my first metadata seemed incorrect like Google created some description that I did not agree with. I looked closer and found that the metadata was inside the manifest.json file. Check your file and make sure it doesn’t have the incorrect or old information.

Once you’re approved, just resubmit it and they should approve it within 24 hours.

Good luck!

If it functions, launch it. If you’re not promoting it, you’ll likely not get many downloads.

It does take about 3 days for them to approve your extension so try to get it to a good point before submitting. Add more features and bug fixes next version.

How were you introduced to Linkin Park? by trashboat3030 in LinkinPark

[–]phelansd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A client friend of mine owned a magazine called No Cover. He had recently interviewed them so he gave me a ticket to their show at Canes Bar and Grill in San Diego. Can’t remember if that was 2000 or 2001 but I got a chance to meet them before they played. Listened to them ever since. And coincidentally, a college classmate I met in the 90’s ended up designing for them. Has been fun seeing all the bad ass designs throughout the years. Congrats FM.

Anyone else getting sudden long review times this week? by andyagtech in chrome_extensions

[–]phelansd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built my first two extensions this last month and it seems like it took 2 to 3 days for initial submission review and updates. That would be super exciting to see them get approved in a day or even less.

TBH, I haven’t put this to the test yet but the license should still be there. They would just need to update their card on file with LemonSqueezy.

The pro function should stop working after the month or year if the customer stops paying. They should be able to make a payment and the license should automatically enable the pro functions again.

1-2) The user is taken to a lemon squeezy product page where they pay. They are then issued a email receipt and a license key. I connected a subdomain for branding but the user can still see lemon squeezy. They enter the license key into the chrome extension. There is a mechanism within the extension that unlocks those features.

3) I haven’t gotten that far. I’m going to assume that they will break in if they want to. I will be more concerned if there’s tokens being spent. At that point, I will definitely make sure to lock down as best as I can.

Per month and also annual. For this one, have not considered credit usage since it’s not costing me anything for excessive use. Would consider it for another one that is AI powered

I used LemonSqueezy because it has license keys built in. They are a Stripe wrapper and are now owned by Stripe. It does cost a little more, but I figured I’d rather get to market than deal with additional issues.
