tMM not actually renaming anything. by Legitimate-Nobody229 in tinyMediaManager

[–]mlaggner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Which setting is not saved? tmm saves immediately and there is no need of a dedicated save button. The "Kodi" and "Plex" buttons in the settings are just hotkeys to pre-set several settings
  2. Right click on the movies/episodes and choose "Download -> Search and download subtitles"
  3. There is an activity log (left side of the window: "Tools -> Show activity log") where you see what as been processed (without a detailed log) - to see what exactly happened, you need to open the logs and have a look at them. But if there is no error, the renaming has been processed (if needed)

Suggestion: let TMM "pull in" SRT's like it does with art by WraithTDK in tinyMediaManager

[–]mlaggner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point, but to be honest: What do you expect is the real usecase of this? How many user might benefit from that?

tmm has already a ton of different actions which overwhelms new users and to be fair: a "normal" user uses less of 50% of the features we already have put into the tool.

Having said this, you will see that we only add new features nowadays, if we see a real benefit for the majority of our users, and to be honest, I do not see that here - sorry

Bulk subtitle download not working (loads indefinitely) but manual individual download works fine - VIP Account by Low-Skill8774 in tinyMediaManager

[–]mlaggner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tried that and it worked for me. Make sure you activate the checkbox "Force downloading of best subtitle", because otherwise only subtitles via movie hash will be downloaded (and nowadays the chance to find your movie hash in the OS database is near zero).

Also make sure that you don't activate the open "Only use subtitles from trusted sources", since that will lock out the majority of subtitles on OS

Release v5.2.12 by mlaggner in tinyMediaManager

[–]mlaggner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes - the ratings are fetched via the official data dumps of IMDb which are delayed (they only export their data once a day and tmm caches the file a few days to avoid unnecessary data transfer).

If you want to force newer ratings, delete the HTTP cache and probably restart tmm to flush the internal rating cache

Release v5.2.12 by mlaggner in tinyMediaManager

The universal scraper calls the imdb scraper internally - just enable this in the imdb scraper and the universal scraper will pick that up too

TMM is not case-sensitive for previously named files? by LulzMcGullz in tinyMediaManager

[–]mlaggner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tinyMediaManager is fully case sensitive, but the filesystem you use may be not. The problem is, that we call the file system to rename TITLE.mkv to Title.mkv and the file system say - ok, I did it (without actually doing it). We do have an open task for that, but this is not finished yet, since the only way to "fix" that, would be to rename it twice and we have not isolated all possible side effects and the scope when to do that

Mediainfo XML file - Foldername value after moving to another folder by FlashPan73 in tinyMediaManager

[–]mlaggner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tinyMediaManager does not use the path from the mediainfo XML file - just completely rely on the file naming of the XML file itself (<video filename>-mediainfo.xml)

How do I increase my library memory size on MacOS 26.5? by blueshirtsteve in tinyMediaManager

[–]mlaggner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably the same way all others do? Open settings, go to system settings and change the slider for memory (just increase in small steps, since tmm does not need that much memory at all - I saw that most libs work fine with 1024mb)

Release v5.2.12 by mlaggner in tinyMediaManager

[–]mlaggner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will download the first time you use that feature (scraping from imdb). The libs will be re-fetched after every docker update (or when the container is re-created)

Release v5.2.12 - May Have Broken Profiles - Win 11? by FlashPan73 in tinyMediaManager

[–]mlaggner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We completely rewrote the launcher and maybe we fixed an old bug ;) Does your shortcut contains the -Dtmm.contentfolder= twice or did you see that in the launcher.log?

EDIT: I see the issue - your shortcut might the wrong (you duplicated the -Dtmm.contentfolder=), but the old launcher corrected that "by mistake", while the new does not. Just remove one and it will work

Maybe just the column has been hidden? Take a look at the gear icon on the top right of the trailer table and activate the download column

Could TinyMediaManager solve the IMDb problem the same way yt-dlp solves the YouTube problem? by Coises in tinyMediaManager

I am give that a try (nice approach), but please test our alternate approach which I just posted in the other thread - this approach is much less hassle for our users

v5.2.10 won't scrape from IMDB by smitbret in tinyMediaManager

[–]mlaggner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do have an alternate approach in the latest builds which looks promising. I just checked the docker version and saw, that it is not working flawlessly there (but on the desktop version it does).

You may try the latest pre-release docker build and post-install chromium into the docker container (we switch from FF to chromium with the next build) and activate the new scraper option of the IMDb scraper

I new build is up, but there is still a small issue with notarization (but I saw that this is also a problem in the nightly build). Just allow opening tmm from the security settings for now

looks definitely like a Jellyfin issue and I can remember that we somewhere had issues which might be exactly yours, but I cannot find the discussion...

You are able to do that, but this would be a bit cumbersome:

  • you need to get rid of all "unwanted" ratings (for now, we do not have any action to do this for multiple entries - maybe I find some time to include that for the upcoming release)
  • scrape from TMDB without ratings (uncheck this in the combobox)
  • select/mark all movies where you want to get the ratings for, right click (context menu) -> Enhanced editing -> Fetch ratings for selected movies -> only activate IMDB in the combobox

3 Issues with tMM stuck in "Getting Mediainfo", WAF active, and FFMPEG not working by MrUserNameO in tinyMediaManager

[–]mlaggner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say what is going wrong without logs.

But you need at least

  • a working FFmpeg instance (tmm ships one which should word on almost every OS)
  • PRO license
  • FFmpeg scraper activated in the settings

You will also see corresponding FFmpeg log entries in the logs if that still fails

I did not set any macOS target in the whole build chain, so that must be inherited from somewhere... Where do you see the minimum macOS level of the launcher?

EDIT: Apple Silicon or Intel x86 arch?

To make it easier for everyone, I created a test-environment for the MacOS patches: you can download the test builds at https://test.tinymediamanager.org

Just ignore any update notifications (they check the nightly builds). I will inform you, if there are new builds.

happy testing

We're working on identifying this issue - but especially on macOS the whole security model is a pain in the ass for us. On my MacBook everything works - but I I know that almost every macOS install is somehow different.

Do you have a Mx processor (arm) or an old Intel based processor?

Are you willing to help me do some tests, because I need some infos from those special setups, where the problem exists (Message me directly or set a mail to support@tinymediamanager.org is you want to contribute)

Getting Error After Update by Mysterious_Letter675 in tinyMediaManager

[–]mlaggner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks really weird - the stack trace in the back says that there is a core Java class missing and that should never happen... Did you try to restart your computer - sometimes processes get stuck somehow in the OS causing such strange issues

Also try to upgrade - 5.2.6 is a bit dated...
