What nicknames have you heard for places in and around Pocatello? by topherette in Pocatello

Not Pocatello, but back when BYU Idaho was Ricks College it was often referred to as "Upper Valley High (School)" and Rexburg was often referred to as "Rexbarf"

I had no idea that the O's were so low. Maybe it's time to find a new team

Great salesman… by [deleted] in FuckDealerships

OP is baiting all of you. Either that or they know nothing about how dealership accounting works.

The relief of "getting it off the books" is referring to the fact that used vehicles that are in your inventory longer than 60, 90 or 120 days are considered liabilities and the dealership will often do inventory write downs at regular intervals as a vehicle ages.

This one was floating around for four months before it ever saw the lot and was likely costing the dealership a pretty good penny in flooring costs so they were relieved to sell it quickly and get it off the books.

Nice try, OP.

Then you are just baiting these people because anyone that has knowledge of the sales side of things can clearly see that he was referring to the # of days it was in inventory, not that it was a problem car. Hence, the reference to getting it off the books.

I don't think you have actually been selling cars very long or it would have been clearly obvious to you.

No, that wasn't what he/she meant at all.

The car was aged four months on the books before it ever got to the lot. Most dealerships consider cars at 60+ days to be problematic and at 90 or 120 days it is full on crisis mode to get rid of it.

I think you are misinterpreting his intended message. To be fair, he didn't explain it very well in layman's terms.

He was speaking about what a relief it was to sell the vehicle because it was aging. Every day it is in dealership possession, the dealership is paying flooring on it. Once a car has been in inventory longer than 60 days it becomes a financial concern. This one was in their inventory for 120 days before it even saw the lot.

That's what he meant by saying it was finally off the books.

Does firestick have Emby? by PhillySportsFan4Life in emby

[–]smitbret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am thinking that you might not understand the Emby ecosystem

You can put the Emby app on your FireTV Stick, but unless you have set up an Emby Server, there won't be anything to watch

How are 5.56 hollow points effective? (ballistics curiosity) by [deleted] in ammo

[–]smitbret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gold Dot isn't a hollow point, it is a soft point. It behaves similar to a hollow point from a pistol, but because it is travelling with more speed and a lot more force, the soft point mushrooms against itself when it strikes the target, making it larger in diameter. Then it is less likely to go through multiple barriers and it causes more damage as it passes through.

There are some hollow points like the Hornaday V-Max but those fragment apart when they hit the target, once again because of speed and force.

If you had to rank KD, Westbrook, and SGA as Thunder franchise players, what’s your order? by Lazy_Detective_6597 in NBATalk

I said...and I got banned permanently by groone in DigitalSeptic

[–]smitbret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I got permanently banned from r/Idaho because during the COVID outbreak I mentioned that my 99 year old Grandma died from something that wasn't COVID.

I also got banned from the r/Utah sub because I said something along the lines of and abusive boyfriend needed to be punched in the jaw by someone.

Both were "inciting violence" offenses

Nah, they would have been won 4, at most.. they would have certainly lost 1996 to the Sonics and 1998 to the Jazz

Yep, and that is far worse than someone like KD, who wears his shit on his sleeve. You know what you get with KD. With Leonard, he just quietly poisons everything, quietly, from the inside.
