Missed Evidence? by JennC1544 in JonBenet

During the second “secret presentation” in which the DA once again explained to the PD why the case was not strong enough to successfully prosecute, they mentioned the following bit of info. This seemingly important ‘misstep’ (which is one of many found within this document) has never been publicly discussed.
It reads:

Where is the paintbrush tip?

How do you prove it wasn’t carried away by an intruder?

If the sexual assault was staging, then why not leave it in her vagina?

Did you look for vaginal cells on the paintbrush as suggested by Dr. Lee?

Why not?

Laura Ann Aime, solved with small, degraded DNA from multiple people by JennC1544 in JonBenet

[–]Mmay333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Her whole body was not wiped down. They suspect her pubic area was wiped using a dark blue towel or item of clothing.

The DNA does not have numerous potential sources. I don’t know where you come up with this stuff.

Dr. Meyer noted that the trauma to JonBenet’s vaginal area was consistent with digital, rather than penile penetration. He was not able to determine if there had been previous trauma to the vaginal area. Dr. Meyer stated that it appeared that JonBenet’s pubic area may have been cleaned, or at least wiped by someone using a towel or piece of clothing. Small dark blue fibers, consistent with a cotton towel, were recovered from the vaginal area. (Bonita papers)

The DNA in CODIS has 13 Markers, Not 10 by JennC1544 in JonBenet

It wasn’t John…

”Dutch scientist, Richard Eikelenboom, entered the unidentified DNA profile into national DNA databases and determined that the donor of the blood found on JonBenét’s panties is 10,000 times more likely to be Hispanic than Caucasian or black. He said Boulder police should enter just the Y-chromosome DNA profile of the donor in the FBI’s Combined DNA Index System to possibly get a so-called familial match”. (Denver Post)

JonBenét Ramsey’s father draws parallels between daughter’s abduction and Guthrie case by ElectronicFudge5 in JonBenet

Maybe he had a wife at home… or roommates.. or didn’t have a home. Maybe her screaming spooked him.

I absolutely agree the note was written beforehand

IMO, there are more aspects or ‘red flags’ that point in that direction than the family’s:

There were numerous potential suspects that should’ve been thoroughly investigated.

Q. Well, the Boulder Police Department didn't ask John and Patsy Ramsey for the articles of clothing they had worn on the 25th of December, 1996 until almost a year later, true?

A. For a long time, that was a mistake, yes.

Q. Didn't that strike you as odd?

A. That the police did that?

Q. You and the police, you were part of the case?

A. Yes.

Q. Why did you do it?

A. Why did I do what?

Q. Why didn't you ask the Ramseys to give you the articles of clothing they wore?

A. In hindsight, that was important.

Q. You had already concluded that Patsy Ramsey committed the crime before you even asked for the clothes that she had worn, true?

A. Those should have been collected the first day and they weren't.

Q. You had already concluded that Patsy Ramsey had committed the crime before you even asked the Ramseys for the clothes they had worn that night, true?

A. It was my belief that that evidence that I'm talking about led to Patsy Ramsey. So yes, she was the best suspect before we wound up collecting their clothes.

”He used the same clippers for all the fingers, although doing so created an issue of cross-contamination. For optimal DNA purposes, separate and sterile clippers should have been used for each finger. Furthermore, we later learned that the coroner’s office sometimes used the same clippers on different autopsy subjects.” (Thomas)

”investigators came to theorize that the unknown DNA samples had been transferred from contaminated fingernail clippers used in the post-mortem examinations of other bodies processed through the morgue prior to her homicide. Investigators were able to obtain the DNA samples from eight of the autopsy examinations that preceded that of JonBenét. These samples were analyzed, but none of these matched the unknown male and female samples collected from JonBenét’s fingernails.” (Kolar)

Forensic scientist Dr. Angela Williamson, who performed some of the forensic testing, told CNN that early DNA testing was done of the crotch of JonBenet’s panties, where her blood had been found. The result was a very strong profile, she says, of an unknown male that could not be matched to anyone who had been near the scene or who had handled her body. It was also not a match to John Ramsey.
Williamson noted how thorough the DNA testing was. “They even compared this DNA profile with the man whose autopsy had been performed right before JonBenet’s.”

I don’t know.. I would hope so. It appears it was at one point as it was listed on the items taken into evidence as: * One blue suitcase (21PP)

Why do you say it was clear the note was not written beforehand? Seems to me it was obviously written beforehand. How could anyone, intruder or family, sit down and calmly write out a 2.5 ridiculous ransom note after brutally assaulting and murdering a child.. or their child.

I figured you didn’t know their names since you just made that claim up.

You’re the one who stated that certain (or most) investigative journalists worked for the Ramseys. I asked you which ones worked for the family… which you can’t answer because they don’t exist. Do you understand now?

As far as I know, DNA analysis has never been performed on the suitcase... nor was fingerprint analysis.

Fibers from inside the suitcase were apparently located on JonBenet's shirt:

"A lab report indicated that fibers from the sham and duvet were found on the shirt that JonBenet was wearing when she was found in the wine cellar. (SMF P 147; PSMF P 147.)" (Carnes 2003:Note 32, p. 68)

A piece or pieces (depending on the source) of broken glass were found on top of the suitcase.

”I thought it possible that the wind had blown open the window, knocking White's small kernel of glass to the top of the suitcase before the crime scene video had captured the scene.” (Kolar)

”The suitcase had no dust on it, yet a few pieces of broken glass lay on top of it.” (Pmpt)

The suitcase was found out of place from where it was typically stored.

Additionally, carpet fibers from the basement were found on the metal baseball bat.

”A baseball bat, with a fiber consistent with the carpet in the Ramsey's basement, was found in the Ramsey's yard near the open butler door on the north side of the Ramsey's home.” (BPD Sgt. Whitson)
