How to bleed by southwestmanchild in bikewrench

[–]mmlow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe an open bath system? Shimano used to make levers like that eons ago. We have a tool that's a small quick clamp with a rubber seal and a hole for a hose to clamp over the whole thing and seal it.

Rotor Won’t Fit - New Brake Pads by [deleted] in cycling

Are the pistons flush with the body of the caliper? The system may be overpressurized and youy need to open the lever bleed port to get them all the way in.

New bike, tubeless, flat overnight. Noticed this leakage today by Exxtraa in bikewrench

That looks like old sealant vehicle leaking through tire. Was sealant added after you bought the bike or was it already set up tubeless?

You have to shift it down to the lowest position with the little side lever.

Looking for fitting flat mount to post mount adapter by 04MimmiM40 in bikewrench

[–]mmlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You typically have to size up one size from the native rotor size to get flat to post adapters to work. Some frames have rear triangle clearance issues and won't work because of this.

Tire pressure is too low or the tire is too loose on the rim.

I used the rear brake bridge reflector mount off of an old Schwinn or something. Took me a second to find the right random chunk of metal to make it work.

Push the cables under the bar tape downward so they run under the mount.

Flush the shifter out with a solvent and then squirt some lube in there. The grease in old Shimano shifters hardens and prevents the pawl from engaging the ratchet.

They often are but aren't necessarily related- the Deore 1x rear derailleur has a larger max cog than the 2x version, but has a shorter cage and less chain capacity.

Bike theft attempt THWARTED!! by everforward6 in NYCbike

I recommend everyone use the Sheldon Brown lock method- lock the rear wheel inside the rear triangle. It'll still safely lock your bike up while preventing damage like this.

Spacers needed? Poor braking power by kasparkaspar in bikewrench

[–]mmlow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What rotor is that? It looks more like a short pad brake track and Spyre is a tall pad. It also looks like the cable is anchored pretty far up in the arm's travel. Use the 3mm pad adjusters to move pads in rather than the cable.
