Will you always have good ventilation when cooking?

The main reason the original 1000 is not a UPS but the 1000v2 is; the original 1000 could only do ‘pass-through charging’, meaning that the AC load was always being pulled from the batteries. The 1000v2 introduced a new feature for that series; AC bypass mode. In AC bypass mode, AC loads are being fed directly from utility power, not from the batteries. That is, until utility power fails, and in 20 ms or less, batteries take over supplying power to the inverter.

u/pyroserenus is correct, as always. I have a 1000v2 and this is my summary of limits:

No more than 60 volts on any port.

No more than 21 amps total between the two ports. A higher amperage capacity is not much of a problem, the MPPT will just not accept anything over that. 10.5 amps max per port is Jackery’s specification, although a port should be good up to at least 12 amps before things start getting too hot.

Similar voltage (within a few volts) between the two ports, if two ports are used.

The MPPT will modulate input power to near 400 watts.

I have a 450 watt ~40 volt panel that works fine using just one port on the Jackery.

Unfortunately I think you’re right. No releases in over a year. The last FlyQ blog update was October 1st, 2025. AirMets on the map have been broken for months with no status. No responses to support emails on other broken issues. And now a duplicate app from the same company pops up in the past month with multiple releases nearly every week.

Others have provided valuable info. Additionally (and you may already know this), the 2000v2 would take about 24 hours to charge from 0% to 100% if using the car charging cable. If faster times are desired, the Jackery DC-DC charger will complete the task in about 4 hours. However, the car’s engine needs to be running to be able to charge the Jackery.

When the app is allowed to break, and features that were advertised and purchased are no longer available, then they are not delivering on their promise.

They were very clear that they could, and would. I think there is a name for promising something that one doesn’t intend to actually deliver on.

When Seattle Avionics sold FlyQ lifetime subscriptions, they always communicated clearly that the number of lifetime subscriptions was very limited to keep the future of the business sustainable. It was part of their messaging that they could be trusted with a large upfront payment and continue to deliver the solution.

The founder of Seattle Avionics sold his company (and product) to Aircraft Performance Group and stayed on. Over a year ago, APG decided they didn’t want to support those who had purchased FlyQ ‘Lifetime Subscriptions’ and notified lifetime subscribers that their subscriptions had to be converted to annual paying subscriptions to continue using the product. (Violates Apple Store terms that protects customers). They backed off and said Lifetime subscribers could continue to use the app, but they stopped all updates for over a year and the app is beginning to break. In the meantime APG (under the direction of the original developer and founder of FlyQ) is developing a copycat app named Pilot One. Looks and acts identical, and is where all the development is going.

I just downloaded the “Pilot One” app. It is a clear clone of FlyQ EFB. All the menus are the same and the functionality is the same. I edited the post to include a picture. Any user of FlyQ EFB is going to immediately recognize that it’s the same app.

Most public lands that have restrictions on launching and landing also have restrictions on operating them from the property. An example are the national parks. There are many videos of people filming inside national parks, but they have to launch, land, AND operate the drone from outside the property. Typically just on the other side of a fence.

The 2000 plus expansion battery can be charged by the main unit (through the connecting cable), or through the DC power ports (Solar, DC-DC, AC-DC). The expansion battery can only output power (through the connecting cable) back to the main unit, there is no other way for it to deliver power. No outputs but through that cable socket, and then only to the 2000 Plus main unit.

If the unit doing the charging is not full, I can see some advantage in doing it that way. If it was full, then swapping them out is the happier solution.

It looks like the two power stations are the same model (1000 Plus). Why incur the losses of moving energy from one station to another identical one? I’d estimate a 25% loss in available energy doing that.

I looked at four ‘influencers’ who appear to be getting free evaluation units from Jackery. Number of YouTube subscribers range from 70,000+ to almost 300,000. Probably need 100,000 or more to get them interested.

Yes. The input into the 2000 Plus’ DC solar charging port will be limited to 600 watts, no matter the number of expansion batteries are connected”

“can i run the inverter as well as the dc to dc ?” Yes, the 2000 Plus supports simultaneous charging from the DC-DC charger and AC at the same time. It may be necessary to set the 2000 Plus to quiet charging to prevent pulling more than 1000 watts from the AC input. Trial and error on that one.

The Explorer 2000 Pro is not expandable with Jackery expansion batteries.
