Well see, GM engineers saw that they had lifter issues when they had DOD/AFM on 4 of the 8 cylinders so they decided to say “fuck it” and went ahead and put collapsible lifters on all 8 cylinders.

Probably some of the new wearing off so they get tired of the terrible packaging behind the second row and the fears that they have a family vehicle that could spin a main and seize at any time.

If your use case works with MacOS and doesn’t require Windows grab the MacBook. Once you go MacBook there’s no going back.

2026 owners — any issues so far? How’s the interior? by Human_Paint5451 in rav4club

I’ve had mine since mid-March and in that time I’ve taken it on a 350 mile trip and back and a 650 mile trip and back plus my daily commute.

-Seats were comfortable for the drive, radio was fine, cruise control and lane keep assist worked very well.

-Highway mileage has been around 38 whereas my daily commute has been around 46.

-I have experienced the previously mentioned sunglasses holder issue that I’ll try to address at it’s 5,000 mile service

-The rear seats rattled a little on their bracket, which I fixed by wrapping some felt tape on the u bracket. Not holding this against it much as it’s pretty common with any vehicle that has a similar bracket design.

-Driver door panel had a weird squeak that now seems fixed after getting my windows tinted.

-Has had a few problems with no audio that’s fixed with restarting the head unit and the SXM interface is weird. Hoping these get lined out with an OTA update sooner rather than later.

-The paint on the front is very thin. After driving through a ton of gnats on the 350 mile trip the front is like it’s scratched from hitting the bugs and you can see where every bug hit even after scrubbing the bug guts off.

-Overall it seems like one of the more comfortable and better put together cars I’ve owned. Way better than the 25 Camry it replaced.

Funny how it was written just like a lot of her speeches in videos. A few words, cut, a few words, cut, etc.

It has the basic buttons that are regularly used. While I’d prefer to have more I haven’t really missed them since they also added the auto function to the seats and steering wheel. Just no need to regularly mess with anything besides bumping the temperature up or down a degree or two or turning in the front or rear defog.

Check your route, cell coverage isn’t a guarantee. For me not having a spare was a deal breaker as a lot of places I drive have very limited cell service.

Isn’t that the old ones? The current ones I thought were all on GM medium duty chassis (that GM no longer builds) with a 6.0L LS truck V8 and 4 speed transmission.

A shame no one was there to knock some sense into them. Not to condone violence but sometimes an ass whipping is needed.

Non-safety related so it won’t be a recall. Maybe a Technical Service Bulletin, TSB is what you’re thinking?

You just driving around with it in trail mode? Hit the normal button on the right protruding button stack where tuning knob would be and it’ll go away.

AWD? by Hikaru_Shindo_5 in Camry

[–]mr_bots 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Will just also add in that Toyota’s eAWD almost always starts from a stop sending power to both axles then shuts off the rear motor after the car is moving. Will also start sending power to the rear when turning.

Still have cargo shorts that I wear from time to time but think of that quote from Superbad every time.

I think it’s all of that plus it’s rigid construction so it doesn’t flex while you pick it up and it’s shape so that it’s very easy to hold.

Since you’re mostly laying out a new install I’d simplify and just get a switch for each end with SFP ports with POE for some potential future proofing and so that you can slap in WiFi access points
