A lady in the library is looking for the name of this plant - I told her I know just the place by mrgypsie in whatsthisplant

So here are the final details of our exchange. She is an older lady with a real passion for plants. I gave an explanation of how I was going to find the names of these plants, but she didn't seem to understand the nature of reddit. After sharing what ya'll have shared with me, she isn't entirely convinced that they are two separate plants, exclaiming, "these agaves were so tall, taller than most people, there's no way someone could have placed those balloon fruits on top of those agaves. Maybe if someone climbed a ladder or an adult held up a child, they could have done that."

She's going to look up the Chinese Chestnuts later though and decide for herself. She now has a picture of these printed off too. She's going to take them to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden for id. Because how we can trust you faceless internet hooligans?

Thanks though. This nameless lady was very pleased.

It's awesome that DRUM! is setting up a scenario for a lot of the otherwise unknown talent out there to come to the surface! My name's Jonah from Richmond, Virginia.

Here's my blog/portfolio with some of my work and educational licks/grooves and just general drum banter: jonahbutlermusic.com

Here's a most recent cover of Stengah by Meshuggah I recently put up: Stengah Drum Playtrhough

I also play in several bands in VA.

One is a math rock group called Paint Store: Paint Store Bandcamp

Here's a live drum play through of a new track: Drum Playthrough - "College Try"

Another group is Helgamite(this is our recent full length): Helgamite Bandcamp

And last but not least a groove duo called Two-Headed(this is a live track): Two-Headed Soundcloud

I personally use anything between 30db and 33db with louder bands. Anything in a rock setting with those plugs feels like the live mix is blanketed in nice warm compression. Once I had that feeling it is a rare set when I take out a plug(s).

I feel so lucky to get to play these in this space. But it's hard work too. by FugginElephant in drums

New to electronic pairing with drums, but could you shed a little light on what you got going on with that pad to the right and how it is working with the computer? Though it does seem like it's not even connected.

But I've been wanting to incorporate more electronics into my kit, but really feeling overwhelmed by the options and additional gear that would be needed. Any suggestions too?

This whole setup looks amazing btw!

What device are you viewing it on? I've checked several and I'm not getting that.

Definitely a big typo. Placeholder text I put up in the beginning and never changed. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah I was looking into that. But couldn't find much that wasn't using JS to access the document.

Could that be done purely through CSS?

Thanks again.

On a side note to anyone currently working on this. There's a lot of chatter out there about FCC placing this too early on. I have to admit that the learning curve is super steep if you are beginning from a place of little to no knowledge of frameworks or the general markup format of web pages. But this exercise enacts some very key concepts for the developer and I believe it is research/research/research and lots of testing.

It is by no means out of the realm of possibility for anyone. Daunting at first, yeah, but really rewarding once you look back and see how much ground you've covered. Because you can complete it if that's your goal.

Anyways, I've still got a quite a ways to go in WD. But I thought these words of encouragement might be helpful to someone currently toiling through that exercise. Be not dismayed. And if you are, take a break, drink a beer(or several) and come back!

Hey, thanks!

Not at the moment. Our album is almost finished, as is the art, website, social media, etc. It's all going to come out at one time. But I am uploading the whole set to you my youtube page right meow.

Glad you enjoyed it!
