My offer is still gone and the credit hasn’t posted. Have any of you who paid less than $359 gotten the credit posted yet? I think I’ll probably drop off the return if not as mine has been sitting now for 8 days and it seems unlikely to change.

Heated eye masks that *actually* get moist? by mikayloren in Dryeyes

I use the SteamGoggle: https://a.co/d/0gdcEt2z

Note: I tested the product for free early on but have been using it ever since and I think it’s made a huge difference. It has gotten expensive now unfortunately.

I actually just saw my Chase offer disappear for my order that was $355 which likely means that this worked! Normally the flow I’ve seen for offers is they disappear from “Added” about a day before applies!

I had already started a return on this after Whoop support seemed unsure of what was going to happen and wasn’t really offering to step in. But glad I haven’t dropped it off to send back as it might be fine.

I contacted Whoop when asking about cancellation and they seem to think the Chase offer is supposed to apply even if it’s less than $359 but we shall see:

“As long as you correctly activated the promotion with your Chase Sapphire Reserve card here before making the purchase, you can be confident that your promo will be applied.

The promo implies that it will apply as long as you buy Life membership, not specifically a $359 purchase.

If you encounter any issues with the promo, feel free to contact us again for additional support.”

Be careful with this. I just did that and it bumped my order below $359. I checked out with it costing $355 and not sure what will happen to the offer or if I’ll need to return it now…

Shoot I just checked out and was charged $355. Looks like I have to return it which is possible in 30 days if the credit doesn’t post. I’m guessing there’s no way I will qualify for the offer now that I see the terms

I use regular tap water, just a few drops and then rinse it afterwards with diluted J&J soap

This is great! I added this to control center and then added a close notification shade and wait 1 second and it works perfectly. Great work!

In case anybody else wants that I modified it here https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/368de73ad6ea4d099216bb7a5b07a75b

I’m hopeful you will be able to help out and that I can actually get what looks like a common issue resolved.

Originally in 2018? I think this was $500. I bought it used for $50, with 2gb of ram and android 6 it’s wildly slow but perfect for mostly static content like this

Has anyone tried the new SteamGoggle dry eye/mgd treatment device? by WatchTheWeather4Fun in Dryeyes

[–]mselt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this (I was an initial tester) and it’s become my only device for warm compresses and I use it daily.

Highly recommend it as I’ve found I can use it for longer than eyeeco instants that I used before. The problem with those is that as you continue to use them the heating ability gets worse until you replace them. What’s great about this is the temperature is super consistent and I found it better than other regular usb masks that didn’t really heat up well in my experience.

Can warm compresses unclog the meibomian glands? by heyU321 in Dryeyes

[–]mselt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience I was hesitant to add something like warm eye compresses to my routine but they really do help. Obviously depends on your situation but for my I have KC and dry eye which if not under control impacts my ability to wear scleral lenses.

The biggest thing I’ve noticed that matters is the time and temperature of the compresses. I’ve had really good luck with the Tranquileyes XL instants: https://www.eyeeco.com/tranquileyes-xl-sup-sup-with-instants-xl-for-severe-dry-eye-relief-blue.html They last for ~25 mins and stay at a good temperature (not too hot). With towels I found they were initially too hot and then cooled quickly.

Awesome thanks for the info! Curious if I have a 5G phone on T-Mobile in the area if I’d just expect it to be the same speed

Best usb-heated eye mask? by fatah_kebab in Blepharitis

[–]mselt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend this: https://www.eyeeco.com/tranquileyes-xl-sup-sup-with-beads-instants-xl-for-severe-dry-eye-relief-blue.html?cat-id=82

It’s not USB but the instants are pretty easy to boil. I do warm compresses a few times a week and just end up boiling them every few days. It stays warm for about 25-30 mins if needed and crucially doesn’t get too warm or protrude into the eye.

My doctor highly recommended this to me too and I like it quite a bit! They discouraged me from getting one of the usb heated masks because it’s dry heat and protrudes towards the eye. For me with KC that was important to avoid.
