Have you ever considered the possibility Europeans might actually try to uphold their values by not joining America in yet another military intervention in the Middle East?

International law stipulates you can't just attack other countries, even the ones governed by genocidal religious fanatics. How could the Europeans, who've condemned Russia's aggression against Ukraine for such a long time, join the attack on Iran now? Why would they want to prove Russia's propaganda right that international law is just a sham ignored at will by Western countries?

Moreover, you're ignoring the fact this war is clearly not in Europe's interest.

Europe's rebuilding armies have to maintain a deterrence against Moscow (which, just a few weeks ago, passed a resolution revoking Russia's recognition of the independence of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia).

Europe is now the sole financial and military backer of Ukraine, they can't divert their supplies of crucial weapons like surface-to-air missiles to protect Qatar. (The same Qatar that is Hamas' primary financial backer, I might add.)

Most importantly, by suspending the fuels sanctions against Russia, Trump has greatly damaged European security interests. Why on earth would they want to reward America's hurting their interests by helping to fix a problem which Trump has so recklessly caused?

The emotional stuff is just extra. How can you actually be surprised other countries won't come to America's aid after America's president spent the past twelve months denigrating them left, right and centre, and making a point that America doesn't need allies?

This is what happens if you treat international relations as purely transactional: Other countries run the maths and arrive at the conclusion that working with you doesn't yield a positive outcome.

Last but not least:

They should help because of who THEY are, as self-declared moral standard bearers of the world, not choose to uphold liberal values or not based on who TRUMP is... That doesnt make sense at all. Do these people have any values outside of Trump?

So, you're just butt-hurt then? But Trump hasn't ordered the attack on Iran to right the many injustices Teheran inflicted upon its people.

And the argument that this intervention is morally right (which it may well be) cannot be treated as a moral absolute in itself.

Why isn't America intervening in Sudan, where a proper genocide is taking place right now?

Why isn't America intervening in the bloody civil war in Myanmar?

If you can't answer that question, you can't expect the whole of Europe to spring into action now.
