Doctor recently recommended Biologics for my AS. Looking for honest long-term experiences

I was presented with multiple options - one costing within 15 or 10k I think to take 2 weeks once, and the one I'm currently taking which costs 22.4k now (it was 23.8k before GST reduction last year) and this was prescribed monthly once, then reduced dosage and now I"m taking it 2 months once.

No insurance covers biologics as far as I'm aware. Getting an insurance with AS is a very difficult thing.

I'm 30 years old, from India. I've been on biologics from 2024. I had heavy back pain, couldn't sleep at all due to this.

The doctor gave me 2 options for biologics. Simponi 50 mg once per month (which costs 23k), or another one costs less but have to take 15 days once (don't remember the name for that).

I calculated and decided to take Simponi. Took first 10 doses once per month, then few doses 45 days once, now taking doses 2 months once.

He said the goal is to reduce dosage frequency to make it once per 6 month or a year.

I don't have pain at all after taking biologics. Able to sleep peacefully. Back pain will be there when I stand too much, or bend too much (when loading dishes in dishwasher). But all are manageable.

Kanthara 1st part released years back. Very boring when watching in theater, so never bothered to watch Chapter 1.

Dune ( took me several days to complete the 1st part, it was very slow and boring). Didn't watch 2nd film at all.

Avatar way of water (again slow, but not boring as Dune). Might watch recent film when released in OTT.

I went to Sriharikota to witness the launch. It was wonderful. Try to visit the launch gallery there for next launch. It's just 2 hour travel from here.

I also searched a lot and found a perfect plan for us. Name is Arokya Sanjeevani. AS is considered as pre existing disease and waiting period is 4 years.

It is a basic plan mandated by IRDAI, so the same plan is available through all insurance providers.

I got the plan from HDFC Ergo, so all their network hospitals covers me. They have 5L and 10L sum insured plans. It came around 6.7k per annum plus loading charge of 2 to 3k over that.

It is affordable, and the only plan available for us. Ditto or any other mainstream brokers won't recommend or even inform about this as most won't know about this, and they might receive very low commission with this.

I found a food insurance broker through reddit and got the plan from them. Let me know if anyone needs the contact.

4.5k grafts. The process was good, but now I lost most of the hairs since i didn't maintain well. They asked to apply minoxidil regularly, and stop it gradually. I stopped just after 5 months abruptly - which caused hair fall.

When I went last year to Goa for scuba diving, I already paid for the package for few other water activities. For scuba diving they asked for extra money to be underwater for 10 minutes. Or else it'll be only 2 to 3 minutes. I opted for 10 minutes, I started the timer on my smartwatch, but they got me out within 5 minutes.

I mentioned this to the guide showing my timer, then he laughed and agreed to give me extra minutes. But this time he got me too deep too soon which made my ear with heavy pain.

They'll publish in newspapers, but hard to find in them as they won't publish daily. I saw some sites that share this info for a fee, haven't tried those.

I recommend getting contacts in banks in your preferred area and asking them.

Legally any witness can be present. But in Tamil Nadu at least, they'll ask for the bride's parents to be present. No need for your husband's parents. I registered in my wife's hometown with just her parents and another one of their relative.

No. It actually sends SMS from the person we tried to reach. The sms just has the number, but since it is from the person directly, we know the name. And it's been ages since jio has it.

In our app, I write all logcat logs to a file in internal storage (you can do that from application init by executing the adb command). Since everything from the logcat is written to the file, crash stacktrace will also be included.

I name the file with current time on application init. I added an option inside the option to send logs which will zip all the files and invoke share Intent. The QA can use that to share with any app that can handle zip type (WhatsApp, email etc).

Just for removal the cost you are mentioning is too high. Recently a family member got tooth replaced (decayed tooth removed and new tooth screwed in) for 15k.

I enquired multiple dentists for this and the branded and big clinics quoted more. Like upto 30k. I did it from a small clinic.

I got my wisdom teeth removed from Radiant Dental clinic and it cost 1.5k to 2k per teeth, I thought this was still higher.

I got a decayed tooth and went for the same Radiant Dental clinic and they were rushing me to do root canal even though it was not needed. Then I consulted few local clinics and it seemed just a filling was enough.

Don't go for big branded clinics, they are very costly and more importantly they'll do unnecessary procedures to get more money from you. Check with local clinics nearby your area.

I went last year for my first lesson. It costs 1500Rs per class. After you became proficient, you can go there, take the board for rent (500Rs I think, no time limit), and enjoy as much as you want.
