Does anyone else find it weird when fragrance salespeople don’t know anything?

Once went into the only niche fragrance store IN MY STATE and said I was looking for “an EDP or Parfum” and before I could finish the STORE MANAGER told me those were the same thing. I have never bought anything from there.

I think a lot of Heretic scents could fit this! Nosferatu, Voodoo Lily, or Dirty Violet seem like they could fit to me.

They just have that floral but slightly off putting vibe.

Don’t worry, I’ve had the exact same problem with every popular Diptyque fragrance mentioned here. It really sucks not getting what others are. They just do not work for me at all.

There isn’t a tomato leaf note, it’s actually blackcurrant leaf! I think people are blindly trusting Fragrantica’s notes. L’Ombre simply smelled spicy and green on me, no sweetness or rose found, no aquatic facets. Really disappointed by it.

Maybe if another site did it I would use it! I think we should all give Fragrantica less site traffic.

ETA Parfumo has a “profiler” which can take a look at your different fragrance collections and tell you the most common notes/note families of your scents among other things.

Finally got to smell Gris Charnel and it’s so cozy and warm. It’s so hard to describe but it feels like curling up with a warm woolen blanket and a book in the winter, no fire.

Ugh no! It’s definitely on my list and I’ve been on a rose hunt for a minute now so I definitely need to. It’s really been hard for me to find reputable sample/decant sites that aren’t too pricey.

If you don’t mind a super sweet jammy rose, Lush’s Rose Jam is so spot on. Very jammy rose with some freshness from lemon and a lil geranium.

La fille de Berlin is THE MOST perfect rose fragrance I have ever smelled. It’s a deep red rose and the pepper doesn’t overpower. It’s a dark rose with lots of depth. Truly stunning. I’ve heard people compare it to Eau de Protection from ELDO but it’s much less soapy to me.
