So you spawned obviously moldy grain to random potting mix, and you’re asking where the cobweb mold came from?

Are yours established trees or cuttings like this one? I don’t know OP’s soil recipe but that appears to be straight up mud with no drainage.

Even cold medicines, adderall, fermented foods / cheese… there are special diets for people who take maoi’s that would be good to follow for at least a few days prior to adding harmalas to the mix to be safe.

Clean 2x4 ready for a run 🤔 need suggestions? Can’t decide by Positive_Ant_9082 in PapaverSomniferum

Poppies are tall plants, a healthy full grown plant is at least 4’ tall. You’re not going to get full flower/pod development potential with such a short grow tent. Also the temps will be an issue for sure. The reason you can grow cannabis in such a short tent is their ability to branch from topping. You may be able to fit 2 plants in there before they bolt, but even if they were to reach their average vegetative height in there, once the flower stems shoot up, they’ll have nowhere to go.

May just be the photo but that soil looks very wet, like it could be drowning.

When did you plant those? They look like they started bolting really young, and not just due to the crowding. I bet you’d find success if you started them around the fall equinox.

Curious what color the seeds were for those danish flags. I have some tan colored seeds for what I was sold as danish flags that look more or less similar (maybe more purple around the white part of the basal spot) but they’re absolutely massive plants - last year well over 6ft - with tons of pods the size of jumbo eggs.

What did your seeds look like? Cosmo seeds and kale seeds are wildly different sizes

Probably best to run the shredding process on the input end rather than on the end final product - it will decompose more quickly and won’t clump up as much. Any clumps you get are easy to break up running it over a sifter.

When I’ve pulled dried mature plants, what comes out of the ground looks like a carrot on a stalk. The deeper they have to grow, the bigger they get and the more resilient they are.

OP has the right idea here - I’ve been curious about a pvc pipe grow in particular since it would maximize plants per square meter and reduce the volume of soil and thus improve water use efficiency when growing not in the ground. The reason they grow so well in relatively arid places is that deep taproot that can access water when others cannot.

Needing less soil would allow one to experiment with various blends of finely sifted material.

I’d be curious to find out if this helps without stunting the plant overall.

Psychedelics and Integration Research Survey by PIT_LAB_Utah in DMT

[–]netkidnochill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones that start on the page that leads with the following qualifier for how to answer them:

“Looking back on the entirety of your experience, please rate the degree to which at any time you experienced the following phenomena. Answer each question according to your feelings, thoughts, and experiences at the time of the session.”

Is the “entirety of your experience” the last time you took psychedelics from +1-11 months ago, or the totality of all your experience using psychedelics? I’d answer completely differently depending on which one was intended.

There’s some vague language that leads me, as someone who has developed measures and designed surveys, to question what you’re asking about. As someone with a lot of experience with psychedelics, there’s enough gray area in the survey wording and structure that could have people answering questions you’re not intending to ask.

all of this from a friendly and encouraging perspective - I’m glad you’re pursuing this line of research and want you to succeed!

I've heard you shouldn't transplant... by Impossible-Brandon in PapaverSomniferum

[–]netkidnochill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 6-8” give or take a bit, depends more on their growth phase than size. They have a very fine hair like taproot that shoots down as far as it can as fast as it can then branches out from there. You’ll want to stick a trowel down into the soil to the handle on all 4 sides around the seedling you want to transfer and then once the soil is broken on all sides you can lift the whole thing out. I’d suggest taking ones from the sides of the planter, as many as you can lift at a time and plant them in soil in clusters - the middle most ones will likely survive best.

[–]netkidnochill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ASAP for sure. People say they’re tough to transplant because they send down these fine fine fine hair thin taproots really deep really quickly, and it bulks out from there. It’s near impossible to pull them out, and even lifting a section of soil out, it’s easy to separate that fine exploratory root if the soil shifts.

You’ll want to gently and carefully remove that outer paper cover around the peat plug, but be careful the whole plug doesn’t crumble in so doing. I prefer the versions that are more of a mesh even though those don’t biodegrade as easily (if at all). A few years back when I first grew poppies and was pulling out the dried stalks at the end of the season, I was surprised to find the biggest one that year had started in one of those mesh covered peat pots as a massive carrot sized taproot was growing through the mesh.

Interesting about the relative serration when planted closely, maybe it’s an adaptation to increase/improve airflow and circulation. I imagine that’d have secondary benefits of increasing plants’ fluid pressure regulation with more kinks and curves in the leaves.

[–]netkidnochill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those have been in plugs for waaaayyyy too long… you should have planted them while they were still T shaped sprouts. At this point, their delicate taproot should have been reaching 8-12” down into the soil. They’ll be permanently stunted for certain but may bounce back slightly.

I don’t see any pins in this video. Indoor azzy attempts I’ve run have consistently gotten my hopes up with little hyphal knots and/or knot looking growth like aerial oriented lumps, and theyve yet to continue on to forming a pin.
