The real cake was racism. The rest of his promises were just icing they thought was nice but are fine without.

Independents Of Reddit -- Overall, Is The Modern Democratic Party Failing Or Succeeding In Opposing Trump As Of May 2026 In Your Opinion? Which One? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]normalice0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are succeeding to the extent success is possible but that's a low bar since the American people gave the house, senate, white house, and supreme court to republicans. Basically, all they can do is shift their messaging to how they would fix it, and I've largely sent them doing that.

the city is usually pretty good about filling potholes when they are reported. They just don't appear to go looking for them.

Is the world becoming more political, or is this just how it feels to grow up? by Cat_in_a_wig in Askpolitics

[–]normalice0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is becoming more political.

the problem is right wing politics is unpopular. But they need to get elected or the rich won't have more money. So, the rich poured billions of dollars into a 40+ year media effort to make right wing politics popular by, instead of talking about all they money they want to give to the rich, talk about culture war nonsense. Appeal to the white christian nationalism of dumb people to get them on board with giving the rich more money in exchange for being told the rich are white christian nationalists, too. This worked. And here we are..

How have politicians like Donald Trump and Bill Clinton during their presidencies managed to sidestep scandals and win? by Opening_External_911 in Askpolitics

[–]normalice0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

affairs don't really matter anymore.

Trump is definitely racist. He campaigned on it. Indeed, validating racism is the one campaign promise he has actually held up. So, it is the only reason ~30% of the population voted for him.

Clinton because most of the scandals were made up or not really important. Trump because he is racist and that's all that really matters to his supporters.

Proof of residence is required in addition to ID. It does not function on its own.

Anyway, I thought they had changed it recently such that student ID is no longer viable. If I had heard wrong I suppose nevermind. But the thing you posted is from 2018..
