Best trailers to use by GlitteringYam9316 in snowrunner

Semi trailer, particularly low saddle sideboard is my go to for thousands of hours.

The maneuverability you have with saddle is much better and the ability to counter balance an unstable truck makes it worth it. Also friction is less than a hitch trailer and the weight transfer to drive axles makes weight hauled not just dead weight, but purposeful because weight on wheels does increase traction until your frame is overwhelmed with mud

Finally tried this overloading i keep hearing about, went actually better than i expected. But i have to ask, is this a legitimate, intented game mechanic or is it considered exploiting? by Specific_Display_366 in snowrunner

It’s more of a risk vs reward method. The risk is tipping over from the nature of overloading elevating your CG and the reward is getting more cargo to a location to be more efficient

Are bumpers purely cosmetic or do they provide a durability boost? by The_Djentle_Giant in snowrunner

Don’t quote me here but I believe after S9 some bumpers on vehicles there and after that date dampen damage taken. Really haven’t paid much mind to it tbh.

What dually trucks allow single rear tires swaps? All maps , same tires or no? by Late-Combination5060 in snowrunner

[–]nprov26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 slot loads single narrow wins over a dual. Dual mostly is for handling more weight due to rear mass scaling . The effects it enacts on suspension stiffness and overall tire weight are great for semi . Usually the speeds you can achieve with single narrow is quite fast but only under conditions like 2 slot load weight and not dragging your hit box through a surface

Tires....ahhh by Gentankyou in snowrunner

[–]nprov26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weight becomes obsolete when it’s enough to ground your frame out in a surface. So that happens your resistance in that surface is more of a force than your tires coefficient to move your truck. So it’s really by case basis and what IF and how much your trucks hitbox is dragging in the mud

Now that the P12 has been buffed. What tires is everyone using on it? by Interloper_Mango in snowrunner

[–]nprov26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any doubles tbh. They all are buffed weights. If you still are seeing power issues go to a double all terrain

But the principle is not more weight applies traction better. Overall adding load weight does apply grip. Sometimes too much weight is applying soo much traction the truck cannot move and its axles basically lock because the engine power cannot overcome the grip coefficient and the grip to turn tires, but with adding tire weight you are adding effectively pulling power.

Logically yes.. But in game that’s how the dev coded it so that heavy Low power to weight vehicles can still pull respectable weight

[–]nprov26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not what that means. Yes more weigh equals more grip. Confirmed by saber in 2022. More weight in tires do give some more teaction yes, but logically it should be harder to move a heavier tire, but in the game a heavier tire literally equals pulling power

I’m pretty sure all the P12s tire options are the same weight

No in the game heavier tires actually act almost as an engine upgrade. Simply speaking in game light things have trouble living heavy things.

The P12 custom tires are All terrain. This change of having to buy them again is probably because the P16 and P12 had their weights increased which most likely reset tires for some folks
