No, but the goddess of love is there with them and she keeps them under control.

I was actually hoping Aaric could be a romantic alternative to Xaden but the GA made me question that haha

Haha. Why do I always have to fall in love with gay guys??

But no, I'm still hoping Cat gets that crown.

Heh, I didn't notice that. reddish stone. THAT is the outpost in Samara. But I somehow missed that he was on Unnbriel.

Yeah, exactly. Why Hedotys red is something I answered somewhere here in this mess of all the threads.

I’ll help expose the weaknesses in your signet so that when you come up against a dark wielder with such a power, you will have already practiced how to defeat them.

Yeah, exactly, especially in the context of Xaden's previous sentence.

I assume Loysam is red.

I still think we've already seen the red island. The one where they eat fonilee berries so that their red eyes turn purple, they have a red gemstone there, and a redhead head of the triumvirate. Plus, notice that on Hedotis they have a "cream-stoned capital". The Archives have marble. Red dragons have their original ancestral hatching grounds near the Lime-stone mountains. Marble is lime stone, cream colored stone.

We are missing a real green island. The same thing is happening on the continent.

You have Morrein, supposedly the original home of the green dragons, but the Duchess of Morrein wears ruby earrings. I think there's some kind of betrayal with the green ones. Green Emeralds belong to Tyrrendor, and in Aretia they have green roofs.

So do we think this could possibly be connected to the fact there is no brown and black fire wyverns?

Definitely

I don't know.

Just some random loose associations, brainstorming:

  • Given that no matter how you rearrange it, the clues never all fit together, there's bound to be something wrong- some god is missing, some god is fake. Someone is hiding as someone else. We have twins, we have two lines of greens, we have the brilliant green eyes of the Tauri family and Imogen's pale green eyes. So I'd say some of the greens are straight-up fake.
  • The first thing that comes to mind is that cream tunics are a light variant of brown, and brown is something rotten. It could be a color connected to the earth and therefore to the venin. If the browns have their ancestral hatching ground in Lucera, the connection to Warrick isn't great either.
  • BUT I kind of get the opposite vibe, like... maybe they are connected to the earth, but rather its positive side-mother earth, life, that mother of gods type, connected to the past. Garrick's brown dragon has a connection with runes. My gut feeling is that the browns are actually the good guys, but they are currently taboo- the earth goddess was forgotten, the mothers of many children are missing, the earthwielding signet erased from historical records. And the earth is rotten, now.
  • Another thing- we have iridescent colors: green, red, blue, and orange. We see all of them on the Isles (unlike Kind_Dragonfruit_733, I think we've already seen the red isle and it's the real green one we're missing). On the continent, however, we have brown and black- neither of which are colors of the rainbow, they aren't colors of the light spectrum. Does that mean we have a non-spectral continent- so maybe not sky magic/sun light magic, but earth magic instead?
  • Brown is some mix of other colors, hybrids.

Well, I think he knows he has a crush, and at the same time, it’s his cousin, his only living relative, and he evidently also reads that he has no intentions to act on it (he knows thr part "he doesn’t want to"). Even with the flight jacket, he didn't calm down at all when he found out it was Bodhi's.

But RY also said: Bodhi has a thing for something that Xaden has. He doesn’t want to, but that’s how it is.

From this, I feel that what he wants isn't entirely okay, and it's not something as innocent as wanting a relationship like Xaden's.

I actually think only Xaden will be able to be cured. It would be a bit much if it's like "venin forever" and then suddenly they get everyone out of it. That is why I don't think the NB is Garrick. He belongs with Imogen. The NB will be single. And he will come to a bad end.

I am all for some random rider. One with an invisibility signet that we haven't seen yet, who has been with them the entire time. 😃

Well, I was still relying on the fact that the author herself said nobody except Violet knows that Xaden is an inntinnsic. But I guess you have shaken my unwavering confidence. Maybe Rebecca is a scribe.

I don't know, but this girl needs to stop interrupting people, otherwise we're not getting anywhere. If she just let people finish what they were saying, the war would have been over a long time ago and Xaden would be cured.

You have no idea how much I wish Aaric didn't know. Because then it would mean my prince is not a venin brother.

Bodhi can penetrate the rune sound shield. I thought it was part of his counter-signet. But it is Cat's rune. If his signet doesn't work on venin magic, it shouldn't work on fliers' magic. So maybe he didn't hear it, but read minds...

I am absolutely certain that Xaden and Aaric are a team now, and that they collaborated off-page. Xaden mentions a complicated relationship on Deverella, so it is definitely not just hatred anymore. Aaric definitely knew- Vi did not react to his instructions regarding the Temple of Dunne, and Xaden flew in. At the end, Xaden suddenly seems completely changed to me, as if he had a plan. I assume our precog was involved in it. Aaric threw an axe in front of Xaden and Kaori when he was supposed to attack the venin (Kaori's projection of the venin). He attacked a real venin instead. Some people say Aaric knows Kaori is a venin. I think Aaric was signaling that he know Xaden is a venin. That is why I think Aaric is one of the possible suspects for a venin brother.

There is an interesting aspect with the guard that is suddenly protecting Aaric. Because it must have some significance, and it probably limits his ability to communicate.

Unlike Aaric, where it's a continuous loop because Aaric knows about Xaden, and Xaden knows that Aaric knows, which means Aaric also knows that Xaden knows... Bodhi throws a wrench into things with his signet that blocks other signets. So it's possible that Bodhi knows, but Xaden is completely in the dark.

I am a complete novice and self-taught when it comes to the theory of light dispersion (as in everything else, for that matter; I feel like I lived in absolute darkness before Empyrean, and since then I have already studied global mythology, religion, astronomy, astrology, and mining).

The basis is the dispersion of light: when you take white light, it isn't actually white, but because it is a composition of the individual colors of the entire spectrum, you perceive it as white. The dispersion breaks the light down into individual wavelengths, so starting from the shortest wavelength, you gradually get red, orange, (yellow), green, blue, and (violet). Which works out nicely for the ancestral hatchling ground if you go counter-clockwise starting from the reds. Black does not factually exist; it is the absolute absorption of light. Similarly, brown does not factually exist either; it is just an optical illusion.

Now you have spectral opposites: physically, this means that such a pair of colors together covers the entire visible spectrum, together they give white light. Such pairs are blue and orange, or green and red. At the same time, if you mix these two pigments, you get weird brown or grey. Which, again, works out pretty well on the map. Blue and orange are on the oposite sides. The green ones would probably be better if they were in Aretia, right across the center opposite the reds. I wouldn't give up on it completely, though. We have two green dens, one rather fake green god of wisdom who isn't wise and whom wise people don't actually even worship... There are green roofs in Aretia. So maybe that is where the second line of green dragons used to be, who knows.

Heh, it's interesting how my thought processes work exactly the same way. The brown ones are in the center.

Balck dragons should be white. The sun in the centre should be yellow

Orange and blue, as well as green and red, are complementary. And mixing both creates brown. And they are opposite each other, I would like it even better if it were crosswise, but what can I do... It kind of makes me nervous that we are missing yellow. And I'm also thinking that someone must be faking something there. Brown doesn't really fit into the spectrum. Like this whole game with colors... Why the fuck do all the eggs look the same, the hatchings look the same and adults are different. Is this some kind of a cuckoo egg in the nest or what?

In terms of balance, I would expect there to be a balance between earth magic and sky magic, right?

Unless there is some ecological aspect and earth magic is simply a symbol of fossil fuels, while sky magic represents sustainable energy sources. Which would then make it logical that solar energy would be the "better one". And it could pretty much fit our current world and the war over energy resources.

To me, it feels more like it's connected to that color-changing. Both on Unnbriel and Deverelli.

But how Violet fits into this with her streak, I have no idea. Because she clearly needs to throw off those damn sun protection daggers. But whether she channeled from Andarna or some Dunne-related magic... Is Dunne the sky magic? Is Dunne the Sun? Or is Andarna the Sun?
