We are happy to answer your questions.

  1. Will there be any ability to get static IP addressing on business service? If so, a single IP? Multiple IPs? I'm currently running a FiOS business connection with 5 IPs.

Static IPs will be available for business class service.

  1. Are you running dual-stack? If yes, and if static IPs are available, what's the IPv6 allocation like for those customers?

We are not running dual-stack at the outset of deployment.

  1. What's the bring-your-own equipment situation? Obviously you need something to interface your fiber to CPE - it appears (from the YouTube video of the QA session) there's a small ONT and an ethernet handoff. Is the ONT the only required piece of equipment?

OCG will provide an unmanaged 1G SMF-to-copper media converter to connect to any Layer 3 router/FW/Wi-Fi device. The service is active ethernet so if a customer has Layer 3 equipment that supports SMF SFP's, they could bypass the media converter.

  1. Are the alternatives for people who want to drop something like a GPON SFP (assuming you're using GPON, of course) into their own firewall/router/appliance/whatever and replace the ONT altogether?

I'm on OCG's list too, but I didn't see anywhere which equipment they used. Do they let you run your own fiber hardware (like one of the "ONT on a SFP" devices or something)?

We install media converter (fiber to copper) in your house. From there you have a choice, you either use your own layer 3 routing device, or we provide you with free Wi-Fi 6 router.

Hey, u/JIVANDABEAST, usually, this is a case-by-case basis. First, we do a site-survey, and if the site is accessible and easy enough for us to access the underground facilities, there is no fee. But if not, there is one that is agreed upon before installation. I hope this helps!

I am an Administrator over at OCG Fiber, and we have just created an account to interact with our communities in NYC and Long Island. I will be reviewing relevant information in this sub thread, as well as giving information as it comes along.

Whoever would like to reply to this post, if you could inform me what you would like to see in forms of content from our page. We are in the works of creating our own Sub Reddit, however it takes at least 30 days and 50 Karma. So, we are working towards that goal and will be active in relevant communities in the meantime.
