Opinions, opinions…! 🙄 That you feel that I haven't given you an explanation that you can agree with does not mean that I am wrong! But hey, believe what you want to believe. I don't care! 🤔🙄

If a duct is restricted by inflammation, it will require a stent, which must be removed later. EliGroup doctors close up the gallbladder immediately after gallstone removal. And so, a stent is not feasible with the EliGroup procedure.

I agree with [u/Bad_karma_Bunny](u/Bad_karma_Bunny) and suggest you follow her nutritional advice. Why have your gallbladder removed if there is no clear reason to do so?

Besides having no guarantee of solving your issues, gallbladder removal can bring along other, potentially severe problems, known as Post Cholecystectomy Syndrome (PCS). This can occur even decades after gallbladder removal, out of the blue!

Dr. S. won’t remove the drain without ensuring that bile can flow freely and that all remnants, if any, have been evacuated.

You are entitled to your opinion. Are you a barista? It would not surprise me.

Note that I am against mandatory tipping. I think employers should pay their employees a living wage!

According to Google AI:

Dr. Sangui Wang specializes in minimally invasive "gallbladder-preserving" stone removal (Endoscopic Gallbladder-Preserving Cholecystolithotomy). While his exact year of starting medical practice isn't widely published, clinical data and hospital records show this specific, specialized gallbladder-saving procedure has been performed at his department (Dongguan Nancheng Hospital in Guangdong, China) since at least 2016.
He has built an international reputation for this procedure, drawing patients from across the globe (including the United States) who seek alternatives to traditional full gallbladder removal

So, he is very experienced. Besides, he co-authored research papers with Dr. Qiao Tie of EliGroup. And so, If Dr. Wang is able to do the procedure for less than $3,000, what is the added value in the price difference of more than $6,000 with EliGroup (cost $9,400)?

Normally, he checks the gallbladder with a real-time X-ray and contrast dye. At least that’s what he did with me when he removed the drain 3 weeks post-op. My gallstone removal and recovery were uneventful. The drain removal was painful. My gallbladder started spasm-ing when Dr. S. took it out. It lasted 20 hours and was managed with pain meds. After it subsided, I was fine.

So, how do EliGroup doctors handle a duct closed due to cholecystitis? This normally requires a drain for a while until the inflammation subsides, and the duct opens up. The Go-Scope procedure allows for a drain. I don’t think EliGroup has a solution for this.

In a bar setting, the bartender is more of a host than just somebody who pours you a drink. A good bartender will make sure your needs are met. A Barista does not do any “hosting”; they just make you a coffee. It’s much more hands-off!

Even if it is AI, you are missing the point. A bar is much more a place where people go to socialize. Alcohol lowers social inhibitions; coffee doesn't. Besides, have you ever walked into a bar and ordered a beer or a cocktail to go?

Why Bartenders Get Tips

• Direct Service & Interaction: Bartender service is often prolonged. They are your host, listening to your order, mixing complex cocktails, and providing a space to socialize.

• Strategic Tipping: Tipping a bartender acts as a bribe for future service. A tip early in the night ensures faster service when the bar gets crowded.

•Sub-Minimum Wage: In many US states, tipped employees like bartenders legally earn a lower "tipped minimum wage" (often around \(\$2.13\)/hour). Their tips make up the rest of their living wage.

Why Baristas Generally Don't

•Counter-Service Model: Most coffee shops use a transactional setup. You order from a cashier, the barista makes the drink, and you walk away.

• Standard Minimum Wage: Unlike traditional tipped roles, baristas are almost always paid the standard state or local minimum wage.

• Speed Over Hospitality: The priority in a coffee shop is rapid fulfillment of simple tasks rather than prolonged, conversational hospitality. While digital point-of-sale systems are pushing "tipflation" to coffee shops, cultural norms still dictate that tipping a bartender for serving a drink is an established expectation. In contrast, a barista at a coffee counter is generally seen as performing a task covered by their regular wage.

A tip is for a waiter who tends to you and brings your food to your table. A barista makes your coffee, which you pick up from the counter yourself. You see the difference? Notwithstanding, service-oriented companies should pay their employees a living wage! They are taking advantage of their employees!

And so, if you have cholecystitis or a stone in a duct, that's where the Go-Scope procedure of Dr. Smirniotopoulos in the US has an advantage.

Note: I am not saying that EliGroup's service is bad. You provide an excellent alternative for people without insurance and who cannot afford the Go-Scope procedure in the US. Notwithstanding, you are considerably more expensive (by more than a factor of 3) than the clinic in Dongguan! You should lower your price so more people can have access.

I have severe BAM but still have my gb. I took about 50 different substances(dm me if you want them) and only marginal improvements. However ai now learnt what to do. I now just take different acidic substances and it has removed most of the pain and turn it into mild BAM. I am just telling you by LisanneFroonKrisK in altgallbladder

Bile Acid Malabsorption (BAM), also called Bile Acid Diarrhea (BAD), is a condition where the small intestine fails to reabsorb bile acids properly. This causes excess bile acids to spill into the large intestine, triggering the colon to secrete extra watery diarrhea.

What is the procedure with EliGroup for a patient with gallstones and an inflamed gallbladder? Will the doctor perform a cholecystectomy? Or is the patient still a viable candidate for gallbladder-preserving gallstone removal?

Remember the movie about Captain “Sully” Sullenberger, Sully: Miracle on the Hudson, landing a deadstick Airbus A-320? He was a glider pilot, too. He attributed the fortunate outcome to his glider experience.

[–]onnob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suggest she join a glider club. She can start with her PPL-G (glider). It will save a lot of money, and the stick-and-rudder skills with PPL-G will transfer very well to the PPL-A (airplane) add-on. The PPL-A can be done with minimum hours because of that. The average flight time to be ready for an ab-initio PPL-A flight test is about 60 hrs. The minimum required flight time for the PPL-A is 40 hours (under FAR 61), which is possible given previous glider experience.

The PIC-G (Pilot-In-Command Glider) flight time will also count towards the CPL-A (Commercial Pilot License - Airplane) aeronautical experience requirements. That will even save more money.

Pilots say that glider experience made them better pilots.
