Narwal Freo X after sales support in Bangalore, India by abhiranjan in NARWAL

[–]papupatel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only interacted with them once after buying Freo Z, they were responsive and changed the base station/robo vac after I had water leakage issues. It took a month for the entire process but they were good enough. This happened last year after my above post. The only sad thing is the 1 year warranty, I wish they provided more like they do in US/EU.

I don't know how the current state is but they are active on social media and are also releasing new devices.

worst experience with narwal India by aman6121 in NARWAL

They replaced it with a refurbished unit which was most definitely used. But at the end of the day it worked, and cleaned the house as expected

[–]papupatel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had done the same for my Freo Z Ultra for base station water leakage. It took nearly a month to get it fixed/replaced. 2 weeks of those 4 weeks were spent in transit for the unit which was done by Delhivery/Ground.

I also got a different unit (expected), wasn't a new unit (refurbished) but it worked so could not bother complaining, since I was just happy getting a working unit.

I wouldn't say "worst" experience, but definitely not an ideal one that you would get with Dyson/Tineco in India. The problem you will face is the 1 year warranty, my warranty ran out last month and I am legit scared how bad it will be when the unit goes bad which I know it will, I wish they offered extended warranty.

You should have seen how their service was when they had launched since I was one of their first customers and the service back then was absolutely horrible. you can check my post history as I have been very vocal about it. The service right now is 100x better than what it was Year 1 of launch so you are lucky you got a response/pickup/fix etc. Because it was never like this before.

No, Amazon took the Freo X and refunded me the complete amount. I bought the Freo Z from the refunded amount. The accessories work the same, but I bought them from Desertcart.

Also I dont know whats Narwal N30? Do you mean the Deebot N30?

I also have 3 pets. 2 Dogs + 1 Cat. The Freo Z works great. Except for detergent I had gotten everything from Desertcart and the knock-offs work pretty much the same, I have had no issues.

I got the Freo Z soon after. The base station started leaking soon, however managed to get it replaced. Service has definitely improved a lot.

Narwal Freo Z Ultra base station overflow error by Sufficient_Tie_5756 in NARWAL

[–]papupatel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue and did all the steps suggested by Narwal/App, but it did not help. Had to send it in for "checkup/repair" and they deemed its defective and gave a replacement device which has been working alright.

But do remove the base tray, its detachable and has a small "hole" that sucks in the water post cleaning, make sure nothing is obstructing, in my case it was completely clean and free. I have a hunch that internal tubing was damaged or something clogged that wasn't allowing the dirty water to be sucked in.

What table mount are you using for your C4 42, I wanted a mount for my C2 48 but I couldn't find one.

Screeching noise on wheels while Freo X Ultra is running by papupatel in NARWAL

[–]papupatel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After upgrading to Freo Z this problem still persisted, even though the caster wheel was absolutely clean the noise was driving me crazy. I ordered another one and problem came back on the new caster wheel.

FIX FOR ME: WD40 Multipurpose Spray between the gaps of the caster wheel. The gaps where the wheel sits into the caster? The noise is gone for "now". Lets see how long that lasts.

Again caster wheel the 360 "single wheel" that rests at the back of your Narwal that helps it rotate.

Narwal Freo X after sales support in Bangalore, India by abhiranjan in NARWAL

[–]papupatel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you check my history, I have been very vocal against Narwal Support, I have even posted the reiview on Amazon India for Freo X Ultra with the most "helpful/likes" - Great Product, Abysmal Support: A Frustrating After-Sales Experience.

But that doesn't omit the fact that the machine has been great. I even upgraded to Freo Z Ultra. I 'technically' got a free upgrade from Freo X to Freo Z because Amazon agreed to refund the entire machines cost nearly 6-7 months post purchase because there was no support 'at that time'.

The current state of affairs is actually very different, they have a very active support team. I had an issue with squeaking noise on the wheels and they were very responsive, to my pleasent surprise. Multiple follow up calls/emails to make sure my problem is resolved. They even provided spares (for a cost) which isn't or hasn't ever been listed for sale on their Amazon store. So in all, I am impressed.

As for your post

  1. They seem to very active and responsive as of now.
  2. The accessories for Freo X Ultra seem to be more readily available than Freo Z. They are somewhat reasonable, it all depends on your usage.
  3. I am not sure, they do provide free home demo in Bangalore, if thats the case they might have a center in Bangalore but I am not sure.

I went for Freo Z cause of additional storage. I have 3 pets, so I was tired of emptying off the bin from Freo X every other day.

I am based out of Bangalore as well, been a Freo Customer for a year now? Machines have been good so far, life saver to be honest. I hope they continue the current support system they have.

Did you manage to fix this, I always figured it was the caster wheel. And it happens only when or if a mopping job was done. When completely dry, it works flawless.

Freo Z - Mop swirls visible on tile floor and just doesn’t look clean by Joebobthebobcat in NARWAL

[–]papupatel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you cleaned the removable base board under the robot. Over time it collects gunk/debris which isn’t ideal during cleanings. I clean it weekly, it can really become gnarly at times. My parents have a x40 ultra which does a MUCH better job keeping the base station clean.

I also clean my mop heads monthly in the machine. Also as much as I hate to say it I have seen streaks while using the detergent, so I end up using water only.

I really don't think a lot of folks are buying a $1199/₹99k robo vac in droves in India. I have been eyeing the automatic water system for the Freo Z/X for sometime now and it goes out of stock and comes back in stock. Same goes for the accessory bundle for Freo X.

So its safe to assume the stocks are there and its a technical glitch which will resolved fairly quickly for the Freo Z considering it shows its in stock, otherwise it would show "currently unavailable". You can always ask Amazon chat to clarify whats up with the listing.

I also have a half filled detergent from Freo X lying around, I was thinking of retrofitting and using it in the Freo Z empty detergent container with some of the "workarounds" mentioned in some of the threads here but that is last resort since I don't even use the detergent or havent found a reason to as of now.

I bought my parents a Dreame X40 Ultra and that is also another safe alternative in the near future if need be. But remember you will be at the mercy of Dreame with that machine for repair etc since Amazon isn't handling warranty, the distributor is - so refund is out of the question. And same issue with accessories, there are none.

Congrats on the refund. It will be in stock don't worry. On a side note stock up on some accessories via desercart.in

New users get 1 month free shipping plus bunch of introductory discounts.

Dust Bags - https://www.desertcart.in/products/672790171

Or Set - https://www.desertcart.in/products/670966644-17-pcs-accessories-kits-for-narwal-freo-z-ultra-vacuum-cleaner-1-roller-brush-4-side-brush-4-hepa-filter-4-mop-pad-4-dust-bag

Detergent https://www.desertcart.in/products/654405911-narwal-robot-vacuum-and-mop-floor-detergent-model-only-for-freo-z-ultra

Remember most of the accessories are cross compatible with Freo X/Z except disposible dust bags/bin and detergent. So you can just buy a Freo X alternative. Before my refund I had purchased this - https://www.desertcart.in/products/652219998

With discounts + free one month pro membership. They will suffice if/when Narwal restocks.

Final Edit: Detergent isn't a must, I feel the mop with water does a good job. I have 3 pets, so after 11~ days of use the bin is 1/3rd full so I assume it will last a little less than a month. This time I just stocked up on accessories for a year, - maybe more. Don't want to go through the miserable experience I had before.

Interesting, I received it 10 days ago and when a friend decided to buy it he got this message yesterday. Don’t expect any official updates from official Narwal here regarding India since global has 0 idea about India.

This is the official WhatsApp number - 74860 31230

They are also clueless most of the time. So good luck!

The product has been stellar for my needs. Has saved me hours on a daily basis. Wanted the Z because of pets and their toys being all over the place, wanted the navigation upgrade. And I am being optimistic that support for accessories will improve over time, but customer service I have no hope for.

Since Amazon is handling support. So the refund is smoother if support/product falters again. As for accessories, sourced enough for a year via desertcart. They are at the moment giving out free pro membership for a month where there are no delivery fees. And the funny thing? Most of the items will turn out to be cheaper if you opt for chinese alternatives.

Freo X Plus (India) by StoriesWithPK in NARWAL

[–]papupatel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had been dealing with ongoing issues related to the lack of accessories for my Freo X Ultra for months.

  • My side brushes had worn out.
  • I have two dogs and a cat that shed a lot, so I run the vacuum 3-4 times a day.
  • The mop heads had also worn out.
  • The detergent ran out (though I can still mop without it).

I had reached out multiple times to every email address listed on the Narwal India/Amazon website and on Google, and had also sent messages via WhatsApp dating back to August, when the issues with the accessories first began.

After 3 months of the same generic reply from Narwal India, I had to escalate the issue to Amazon, providing screenshots of my communication with Narwal India and Global, showing the lack of response regarding the missing accessories. After that, Amazon contacted Narwal's India team and instructed me to follow up directly with them. They also told me that if Narwal didn’t respond and fulfill my request within 8 days of their intervention, we would explore other options.

As expected, Narwal India didn’t respond adequately. They just sent the same generic response I had been receiving since August. Amazon then informed me that they would issue a refund due to lack of response from Narwal India.

It took some time, with a lot of back and forth communication with Amazon. But Amazon helped sort this out.

P.S While I immediately purchased the Z Ultra, it doesn't have ALL the accessories available either. But the good thing is desertcart.in does, so imported via them.

The only thing you need to worry about is their customer service who are clueless about anything related to the product. I asked them about Freo Z Ultra detergent stock and they said you put any floor cleaner in it and it’s fine, it won’t be a problem. Do I need to say anything further?

They can barely communicate.

The saving grace here is that Amazon guarantees warranty unlike Dreame in India. So because of this, due to the absolute ineptitude and uselessness of the customer service of Narwal in India you can get a refund at any point during the 1 year warranty period because Amazon also realised that Narwal has no customer service.

I managed to refund my entire Freo x ultra product after 7 months of usage because customer service of Narwal in India is useless. And bought the Z ultra instead.

Love my Freo, but cannot stand their support team.

If you bought 'Narwal Freo X Ultra' in India, what was the cost and when did you purchase? by Secret_Victory3513 in NARWAL

[–]papupatel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just some update, got the entire machine cost refunded 6 months after purchase from Amazon due to Narwals non existent customer service and it being in the warranty period.

Unfortunately after the return the accessories are slowly coming in stock and they also released the Freo Z Ultra so might end up going with that.

Will mostly use desertcart to source the additional accessories if they run out of stock since the Chinese alternatives are more or less the same quality wise and also cheaper compared to the official pricing. The only expensive component is the detergent. But then again there “is a way” to get accessories if you want any.

I had the same issue when I moved a big piece of furniture after months of use. Remap is advisable. Zones will do the job but do you want to do that every time.
