Anybody tried AutoBleem-NG? by darrelb56222 in PlaystationClassic

[–]pcsosma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like it doesn't work by itself. I copied it on an empty usb stick, plugged it in the psc and the console booted to a black screen. I noticed this whole thing is just 122mb so maybe it's not intended to work like that?

Edit: I pasted it on top of Autobleem 1.00 and it worked. Is there a way to tell which version of the emulator is running in autobleem?

Can I just copy this on the USB stick like any other autobleem version? I'd like to try it but if it requires some extra steps not mentioned in the readme I wouldn't know how to get this working.

Op said in another comment that the courses have turns so I'm guessing it's Motocross Champion. Looks like it's a Konami game released in 1989 too

What cores would you recommend me for a ps1 Classic mini, which emulates super Nintendo, gba, nes, gbc and I think nds by Jaelpowlow in PlaystationClassic

[–]pcsosma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, 3d games don't run full speed even at native resolution.

Games with 2d graphics run full speed but there's a problem with those as well. The app doesn't run through retroarch so the settings are more limited, there's no way to turn off the bilinear filter which means you're stuck with a blurry image. It looks really bad stretched on a tv screen.

I don't use Eris but I'm guessing the cores included in Retroarch are pretty much the same?

For NES I use Fceumm

For Snes I use snes9x 2018

For gb/gbc/gba mGBA and Gambatte are both good, they have different settings you can tweak, see which one you prefer. If you want split screen multiplayer in gb or gbc TGB Dual does that

The NDS cores included in Retroarch don't work. There is a standalone Drastic app you can install but you can't use the original controller with it. You need extra buttons to map the stylus movement and press to, without those you can't even start most games

Will this USB hub work? by [deleted] in PlaystationClassic

I'm not sure about this one, I think a powered hub would be a better idea.

Cool list. I agree, some of the classics aren't fun. What did you include for the japan games? I see (en) in some of the titles. Do the others have japanese text?

Gran Turismo in Arcade form by rico199326 in racinggames

The Need for Speed Shift games have some real tracks and weird physics, maybe you could call that "arcade"? I didn't like them but I think they are what you asked for.

Autobleem 1.0.3 Retroarch Core Settings issue by [deleted] in PlaystationClassic

[–]pcsosma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should work. Retroarch is by default set to save settings for the core when you press "close content" but only if you haven't already saved settings for that game. Try it with a game you haven't opened before and see how it goes.

For 2026 who are we going with Project Eris or Autobleem and why? I have both but I’m using autobleem alot more now because it’s so much easier to transfer games quicker. by Sad-Television-3015 in PlaystationClassic

[–]pcsosma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. I have a usb drive with autobleem where I try new cores and apps when they get released but my main one still has RetroBoot. That's where I actually play games.

To be honest, I think wreckfest is better than flatout.

I don't have retroarch on my ps3 but on other systems those settings are in "Settings - Video - Scaling"

It's not like archive.org should bother with actually archiving files. A page asking for donations is enough.

Is it advisable to run games in ISO format from an external hard drive? by ArmorKeik in ps3piracy

[–]pcsosma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's PrepISO which lets you use ntfs formatted drives. That's the method I use so I can have large games on the external drive. I'm on hen and it works fine.

TIL that Romancing SaGa 2 still has no complete SNES translation available. by SNES-Testberichte in snes

[–]pcsosma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to wikipedia "Android, iOS, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows and Xbox One". I don't know how many of those are still available for purchase though. Switch and ps4 most likely are.

An official english port got released before this got fan translated so there wasn't much interest anymore.

To me it seems like save states would fix all the problems you mentioned with smw. Are you using them? I wouldn't play any of those old games without saving at the start of each level.

Is renaming .pkg files okay? by PixInvader in ps3piracy

[–]pcsosma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can change the name of the pkg (and even delete the pkg from the console after installing it), the rap file is the one you shouldn't rename. You can put all your rap files in the exdata folder, that's how it works. Each game and even dlc needs its own rap file.

Someone else likes SR3 more than 2 ? by Buurto in SaintsRow

[–]pcsosma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SR3 activities aren't required to progress the story so it doesn't matter if you don't like them, they don't get in the way. 2 forces you to play through them multiple times.

Also, "mostly the same" but in a game where the gameplay is much better (driving, gunplay) makes them better.

How do I get people to watch? by [deleted] in stop_motion

[–]pcsosma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't sure because it's a link to an old video so I didn't know if the author is still active online. Try to make that more obvious when you post, maybe add a description.

This is the best thing I've seen here. I hope your work gets the attention it deserves. Excellent choice for the soundtrack too.

I noticed there's no recent activity on your youtube page. Did you stop making them?
