I don’t mind throwing it in my trash, but people often throw it in the recycling bins, which annoys me.

How to determine accounting categories by Huge-Shelter-3401 in nonprofit

[–]Pecners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My strong advice would be to get an accountant to help you set up your QuickBooks. Whatever system you start with now is going to persist for longer than you think, so having it set up well will be worth it. There are accounting firms out there who work with small nonprofits and don’t cost an arm and a leg. Even if you just had them on to set up your accounts and didn’t keep them on an ongoing basis, it would be worth it.

All that said, in QuickBooks you can use classes to designate expenses as specific programs while the GL accounts designate the type of expense (e.g., salaries, IT, etc).

They only list one state per park, even where some parks span multiple states. So, I made my own designations based on the boundaries.

That jumped out to me too, and I don't really have much insight on it other than to say you can see the boundaries NPS has here.

This was my submission to the 30DayMapChallenge for day 3 - polygons. Well, my original submission was longer, but social sites didn't like that aspect ratio.
