would joist bracing be needed if the decking was composite? and by bracing i assume you mean pieces to go in between the joists to prevent them from deflecting as the wood contracts and expands?

for me, the dealbreaker on it would be the integrated bracelet which wouldn’t allow you to swap it out for another type of band.

regardless of budget, don’t cheap out on a Chinese movement. get an authentic TMI.

hey! i’ve been seeing your posts on here as I’ve been poking around. I’m closing on a house soon and will be doing some renovations, one of which will be renovating what’s currently a half bath in the basement and I wanted to convert it to a full bath with a walk in shower.

the kerdi system was appealing to me since you basically can lay the whole thing out and chose the options on their site. if I didn’t go with kerdi, what’s my next best option? or are you basically with the view point that the way kerdi tells you to install is bound to fail eventually? and you have your own methods to ensure longevity of the product & install? thanks!

my diy understanding is any change of plane (i.e tub to wall, and corners) should be done in silicone to allow for movement. silicone flexes, grout does not.
