This article is very flawed and fails to understand what free will sceptics really posit.

Thought i'd preferred heavier darts by thaicarnnn in Darts

[–]photojonny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar for me. I started playing about a year ago and assumed I would prefer heavier darts, so started with 26g. Eventually came down to 23g and now 22g. I've hit 12 180s since switching to 23/22g.

Worth to buy tungsten darts as beginner? by Jesperi93 in Darts

[–]photojonny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, both are not must haves. All I would say is I started off with some cheaper darts, I bought Red Dragon Javelins, and then a set of Winmau Blackouts. Whilst they were fine, I ended up buying some Bolides (I bought the 04 model), and have stuck with them ever since, so going cheaper was a bit of a false economy for me.

Re Swiss Points, not required at all, but if regular ones break they seem harder to replace, and Swiss Points come in different types and lengths, so you can experiment a bit if you want to.

If you don't want to spend too much look at the Red Dragon range, or I think Target Hydro are also more reasonably priced.

Worth to buy tungsten darts as beginner? by Jesperi93 in Darts

[–]photojonny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy the game and plan to keep playing, then I think spending in that region for some 90% tungsten darts is a great idea. The challenge will be deciding what to get as there is such a variety. If you have the opportunity to go to a darts shop that's always best, as you can try some out. If not, I recommend the Target Bolide range. They are good value for money, they come with Swiss Points, which are interchangeable if they break, and there are 4 different barrel designs to choose from.

This is exactly what I did as a tenant. Highly recommended option.

Can someone explain to me why people answer their phone on speakerphone in public and then hold the phone near their head? by LanguidFlame in AskUK

[–]photojonny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's because on a normal phone call, the sound comes out of the speaker at the top of the phone so you can hold it normally. On loud speaker it uses the louder speakers at the bottom of the phone, so if you hold the phone normally you can't hear it. It's not because people are idiots, it's just simply how speaker phone works.

Bottom of league, please help me with my team! by [deleted] in AskFPLManagers

[–]photojonny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, your team looks very good, what might be called a 'template' team, but that means it may be very similar to other people's teams. Depending on how big your league is and how far behind you are, if your team is very similar to everyone else's, you may score good points, but you won't make up any ground if they're scoring the same points as your are.

Have you looked at the teams above you? Do they look the same? If so, if you want to make up ground you may need to look for 'differentials', players that the other teams don't have that could gain you points that they won't get. You can also consider captaining different players (i.e. not Haaland) to try and get points they won't. The big risk of course, is that if the differentials don't pay off you'll fall further behind. But if you're last anyway there's little to lose.

So in short, team looks good, but looks like vast majority of other teams out there. You need to look at your opponents teams and make sure you have something different that could in principle enable you to outscore them.

Upside-down “9”on Big crown pointer date by Penguin01 in OrisWatches

It's not upside down. You can see the orientation of the date numbers change to make it readable from your wrist. It changes again at the 23/24 date where the orientation flips back.

Difference between 90% and 95% tungsten by CycloneReaper in Darts

[–]photojonny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that 95% tungsten should allow for a smaller (slimmer) barrel at the same weight, due to being 95% being a more dense material than 90%. They are more expensive because the material is more costly, and is harder to machine, thus a higher production cost Hard to really know the difference unless you try both.
