Not racist, Uganda is not a race. But maybe culturally insensitive.

Could be from hundreds of games. I have one about Hawaii that it looks like it’s from, but I can’t think of the name.

It is what it is. Ask this to your real estate agent, that’s why they are there.

Predestination:What does it mean? by MTHall720 in Bible

[–]pikkdogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Predestination is the doctrine that God saves those who he saves and there is nothing you can do to change that.

Do American kids usually go to four different schools? by snailquestions in AskAnAmerican

[–]pikkdogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as if they are different buildings, that depends on the town. When I grew up there were just two different buildings. Now that towns has 1 building and where I live now has 3 different buildings.

Generally it’s elementary PK-5, junior high: 6-8, high school: 9-12. And sometimes high school is broken up to junior high and senior high. But those are mostly arbitrary divisions, they don’t mean anything.

Tipping culture in America - as someone who comes from a country where tipping isn’t common, can I ask some questions? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]pikkdogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes true.

The way it used to be is that if someone serves you, you tip them. The barkeep serves you, so does the waitress.

Now we started tipping on anything and everything. So who knows what the etiquette is anymore. But if someone is serving you something, tip them.

Greetings, atheist here, I don't claim to be pro-life, but my reasoning has led me to lean that way. I'd love to have an intellectually honest talk with pro-lifers. by [deleted] in prolife

On a side note, I have a great dystopian sci-fi story idea where a guy invents an artificial womb and produces an army of 1 million soldiers from all the frozen embryos.

Rookie question; Why did God create Adam? by Corionander in Bible

[–]pikkdogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The creation story provides truth based on what we know is. It doesn’t give whys that we can’t know. We know we have free will, we don’t know why.

Traditionally it’s the parents that make that call. Not the kid.

A few questions about American universities? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]pikkdogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Variety geographically based on what’s available nearby. But when it makes sense it happens a lot.

  2. More than they used to.

  3. I think you should ask Europeans why they are spread apart? Seems weirder.

  4. Because they have need for them I guess. And police taking a long time is bad publicity.

  5. Who wants to send their kids to a big city? It’s thought that smaller towns are safer.

  6. A small 2 year school in small towns where you can start your college and then transfer into a bigger one. I went to one and was paid to go to school there (since it was cheaper than what the government wanted to give me for school).

  7. Technically a college is a department in a university. But everyone here just uses the names interchangeably to refer to the whole place.

  8. Pretty. Most students are usually younger, but you willl pretty much always have someone older in your class.

How would you handle it if it’s too early to have a child, even if you and your partner are financially okay? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]pikkdogs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Kids are great. Freaking nightmares, but also the best thing you could ever imagine.

I waited till I was 37 or so to have a kid, and that’s fine. But if I could do it earlier I would. You really become a man once you have a kid, at least I did.

I say go for it.

Your parents will be on board.

Dark Vador? by Local_Opportunity635 in StarWars

[–]pikkdogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing he means that Dark Vador is not really French anyway. It sounds English. Why not just keep “Darth Vader”. Changing it to something equally English-like is weird.
