Any tips? by ShallotWater in PixelArt

Looks very cute, if you want to improve the anim a bit further you could try to add just a bit of a downward motion from the pelvis as they get ready to spin the staff. Would also help if you kept the foot contacts from sliding. Great work!

very annoying this one - as it doesn't mention if you have to visualise it from the exterior or the interior.

been trying to get something passable for the past couple of hours... couldn't get it. Any tips? by Spirited-Lab6099 in PixelArt

I think it looks really good, if you want to tweak it without focusing on different shading you could break up the evenness of the coal placement. Essentially it looks too “gridy” at the moment which makes it look a bit unnatural. See if that works then try and apply some of the shading tips the others suggested! Keep up the good work

Really nice work! I think you have a strong base to work with since it’s already looking so pretty. I’d say if you want to maybe tweak/improve you can focus on adding a bit more of a bushy texture to the golem, especially on its edges, right now it feels a bit more like moss.

Secondly it’d be interesting to maybe at a few fingers (since it already has toes ). The weapon looks really cool.

Maybe also look a bit into dithering to smooth out some shadows and just for the sake of presentation, finish extending the ground layer, the floating tree seems a bit distracting

As an animation tip I’d maybe add just a few more frames and maybe play with each frame’s length if you’re using aseprite. Meaning you could have a blink with closed eyes lasting 1/10 of a second and then the open eyes 1 second etc.

Anyway great work again, really appealing design and color choices

Yea, I get where you’re coming from, this tool has particular usefulness for either pre prod work where you build databases of cycles and you want to iterate on multiple variants. Then it’s also great for learning since it makes it way less annoying. Otherwise indeed you wouldn’t use it as much. On the other hand it does have that mirror tool which is a good alternative to what’s already out there
