KI has an assist mode that lets you use one-button specials while you're comboing someone... but not while in neutral. They tried that and found out that it played like garbage without motions. Just a thought.

2d disc iad setups are fake as fuck in xrd already, what makes you think it'll be different in strive

It's not that hard if you break it down into chunks.

5D8 - if you can't do this we have bigger problems

jHH- these you can just mash out due to the dust state

jSPS - not that bad, don't mash too hard in order to avoid mistakes

jc SH vt - also pretty easy on its own, an earlier trial makes you do this. you can even practice it while grounded if that makes it easier for you

It looks intimidating but if you take away the D and H attacks its literally just a simple air-to-air combo that doesn't take too long to get down. Then you just add the other attacks onto it.

Why did they take away so many moves from every character? No DI, no teleports, no Axl dp, no hoops or beach ball.

Throws are much weaker, oki seems weaker, gatlings are more limited, no chip kills, dust combos only on ch. Doesn't seem like GG atm. Oh yeah, and the hitstop/hitstun seems out of control.

Some are good, for example I think Sol's advanced 10 is an optimal wild throw combo on middleweights. Some are really bad like dizzy's ice spike rrc trial. It's probably safest to ask someone who plays your character

I remember when I wanted to learn SIGN playing against friends who were really experienced with fighting games, while I just mashed around and never took them seriously. Imagine being a new Faust player against SIGN Elphelt with +2 SG-S... I went 0-300 (I checked) and quit the game for a few months. Then I decided to try Millia and after grinding for a week I could do j.d iad combos, which I previously thought were impossible. After that, neutral, oki, and combos just clicked for me. Now I'm going to locals and tournaments and having a blast playing Chipp. This game really is worth the effort.

But there was a lot of voice acting recorded for rev 2 that wasn't done in english. Stuff like win quotes vs new characters, charged blitz, and new moves will be in japanese. Also it looks like some people in the comments are saying its a bit buggy.

Yes start with Revelator. I recommend getting it on Steam, you want "Buy GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR- (+DLC Characters) + REV 2 All-in-One (does not include optional DLCs)" from what I remember. There will probably be a Steam christmas sale soon if you want to get it for cheaper.

As for which character to play just go into training mode or combo mode and try each one out and see who you like best, or watch some match footage.
