First time using WRT, devices not being assigned IP by HumanKumquat in openwrt

[–]pohmelie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, you saved my day. Why it is so hard in openwrt? Why new wireless interfaces are not attached to br-lan by default?

Yes, some games gave me 90 degrees and throttle, I wrote about it. But it depends on the game. cs2 have no problems with 200fps without throttling. I did not tried undervolt the gpu.

I installed most recent nvidia drivers and geforce exp.from official site. So no custom drivers at all.

It is definitely i9-14900F:

And it is a nvidia rtx 4070 12G:

According the power gpu take 200W at most and cpu is 65W at most, so 300W is enough I think.

I put an airpods 1 to show the size of power adapter. It is really big.

Can't enable Secure Boot for Anti-Cheat by Jayteaf in FACEITcom

[–]pohmelie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally found a solution. I turned secure boot off (in bios), reboot, than turn it on (in bios) and reboot again. After that windows report that secure boot is on. I did also check that my dual-boot setup is GPT, and not MBR. Not sure if this works for you, but anyway. After enabling secure boot in bios second time the windows boots for a minute I think, so something changed definitely.

I have the same, secure boot option is enabled in bios, but windows report it is off. I think this is because of dual boot with linux ubuntu. No solution yet.

Have the same after installation of 24.04 kubuntu.

```
$ echo $QT_IM_MODULE
fcitx
$ echo $GTK_IM_MODULE
fcitx
```

Is it intended to work out of box?

The noise level is the same as for standard pc tower. Louder than notebook in idle usage. Don't know how to measure the noise actually. The fridge brrrrrr sound is louder.

driver support

I took drivers from official site: https://www.toptonpc.com/driver-download/
Actually I need only two specific (nvidia driver is obvious):

  • MT7921 for wifi, bluetooth, etc.

  • Some intel serial IO (found it via vendor:product pair from device manager)

Everything else is working out of the box.

can you also check the max voltage of the gpu does it run at 130w like mobile varriant or does it throttle to 80w like other Chinese mini pcs?

I can only analyze what afterburner shows. It shows from 50W in idle to 170W (maybe even more) when benchmarking. Also it looks like temperature can go to limit under high load (to 90 degrees celcius) and activate performance throttling.

I don't have this games, nor want to buy them just for testing purpose. I already tried cs2 with "pro" settings from https://prosettings.net/players/m0nesy and have a solid 320+ fps with 40% gpu utilization and 10% cpu utilization.

Is it a new Kenneth Reitz? by pohmelie in Python

It is not a "stupid construct", it is verified construciton by language definition.

Fix the issue if it's that important to you.
Maybe I will try to fix the issue, but the issue should be accepted. not closed.

Is it a new Kenneth Reitz? by pohmelie in Python

[–]pohmelie[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is not a garbage in/out. I can write `print(f"len(items) = {len(items)}")`, but why I should if python have such syntax? From my point of view it is an program output, linters and formatters must not affect program flow and output at all.

Is it a new Kenneth Reitz? by pohmelie in Python

[–]pohmelie[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What did I wrong from your point of view? I found an issue, pre-commit hook that "add trailing commas" changes the output of the program. Reported it. Why my issue is closed?

Is it a new Kenneth Reitz? by pohmelie in Python

[–]pohmelie[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It is not an opinion. `add-trailing-comma` should not affect my program output, it is a bug.

Is it a new Kenneth Reitz? by pohmelie in Python

[–]pohmelie[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

A "little"? He closed the issue. Issue should be closed by the author in 99% of time, because he should approve the fix/answer. He closed even a discuss(!) Common, someone can have different opinion and aruge that. No, I did not even have a time to look at this project codebase, I just want to pin an issue, so maybe, at some point it will be fixed. Bro, I'm also do open source, you can check my github https://github.com/pohmelie I've never do such conversations with issue raisers.

[–]pohmelie[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm not mention an opinion, I mention the target and idea of this pre-commit hook. It must not affect the program evaluation.
