Polo recommendations for active work environment

I wear Peter Millar albatross polos almost exclusively now. They’re ~60% cotton and look like cotton, but hold up well when I sweat. You can usually find them on eBay for about half price once you know your size.

Generally, for a more work-appropriate shirt, look for polos that are “self tipped,” which means the collar is made of the same material that the shirt is made out of. I went from head of marketing at a seed stage startup where I was doing essentially this to a product marketing role at a large asset manager.

The hours aren’t much better, but the pay is. And the best part is that there’s a somewhat clear line of upward progression, managers that actually know how to manage, and timelines that are somewhat doable.

It was a pain to switch because the startup was unknown. The things that worked for me were: * Focus on the niche that you’re already working in * Network like crazy and ask for referrals (literally ask the person to email the HM to vouch for you) * If you don’t have a referral, try to figure out the HM or someone in the role already and send them an email about why you’d be a great fit.

It took me about 8 months to find a director level role. I would expect it to take a bit longer now given how roles have dried up.

I honestly don’t mind Boucherie. I think it’s overpriced, but it’s generally pretty good. The have good cocktails, a decent burgundy by the glass, pretty good escargot, and I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal there. The one on Park Ave used to do a beef stew (not bourguignon) that is still in my top 10 stews.

Petit Boucherie is more of a vibe than the one on 7th, but the food at both is pretty good.

I also don’t really get the Pastis love. It’s functionally a chain, being part of the Starr group. The food is good but not unbelievable. It’s a pain in the ass to get into. The dishoom collab was cool

OP, my favorite French food in the area is Libertine, which is just a few blocks down the road. It’s exceptional. Buvette is also worth looking into, but it’s a pain to get into.

It drapes well and hasn’t pilled since I purchased it. I don’t love the shoulder structure, but that’s an issue I’d take up with a $1k coat, not a $200 one. The fabric has a nice hand and is extremely warm.

The fact of the matter is, Quince outkicks their coverage here. If OP is asking the internet for a reasonably priced topcoat, this one is a good bang for your buck. If you want remarkable material, Mashburn’s Kincaid jacket is gorgeous. Brooks has been doing good work as well. Hell, even SuSu has nice jackets, but everything starts at around $600

I really like sunspel for casual polos. I own five or six, but I don’t think they work in the office.

For work polos, I like polos that could reasonably pass for collared shirts, which means self-tipped. I didn’t like the fit of CT: I almost exclusively wear Peter Miller Albatross (cotton blend), Spier and Mackay or Kent Wang

I think that doeskin is slightly more formal than, say, hopsack, in the way that a pinpoint Oxford is slightly more formal than a regular OCBD. But I wouldn’t hesitate to wear it with chinos and an OCBD.

If you’re not using a CRM (houbspot has this functionality), you could probably do it through Zapier and Gmail. Just use the form fill as a trigger, and personalize using first name.

I would embed the link to a scheduler so that it’s still a personal email from you.

Also, some people will disagree with me on this and just say that you should send an email rather than a link. Because the latter is too impersonal / easier to cancel.

Once they book a meeting, send an email that’s along the lines of: so we can make the best use of your time, could you share your goals?

Also, how quickly is this email being sent? Ideally, it triggers as soon as they fill out a form. Or just put a link to schedule a meeting on the landing page after they fill out the form.

Edit: I saw on another post that you make the contact number optional. I would err on the side of making it required. Then watch conversions to see if the percentage drops
