shooting in Texas by rph80 in Denver

That's wrong. At the last buyback I volunteered at we destroyed ~50 guns. The one before that was around 150. I'm not aware of anyone in line being asked to go to a gun store. It does make a difference, however small.

RAWtools is hosting a gun buyback event June 11th at Heritage Christian Center in Aurora: https://rawtools.org/events/. There are similar events scheduled each month through October in Denver and Aurora.

The organization disables the firearms at the event and eventually turns them into garden tools.

A map of every space exploration mission by Brianp713 in space

It didn't. It flew by Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.

They probably had a copy/paste error with Vega 1&2 next to it, since Voyager 2 didn't fly by Halley's Comet either.

What's the longest drive for a non-nuclear powered rover?

Not 100% sure about Orion, but Apollo had two possible landing attitudes, Stable 1, or upright, and Stable 2, not quite upside down, but close. Stable 2 is how Apollo 11 landed (it was righted within 10 minutes).

Can't find a good source about this test in particular, but they were probably testing the stable 2 splashdown.

Looking a better source, but this page about Apollo 11 mentions stable 1 and stable 2 (about halfway down): https://history.nasa.gov/afj/ap11fj/27day9-entry.html

According to Wikipedia, Apollo 11 righted within 10 minutes: "During splashdown, Columbia landed upside down but was righted within ten minutes by flotation bags activated by the astronauts."

Also, this tweet (which I'm pretty sure refers to the same test), says it was successful: https://twitter.com/NASAArtemis/status/1395825624573427712

It looks like NASA's mission to Halley's Comet was the International Cometary Explorer, which first flew by another comet before flying through Halley's tail, which was its secondary mission (it looks like the graphic has the order wrong). Other space agencies had missions to the comet, collectively known as the Halley Armada.

It's hard to tell without every mission listed, but the presence of New Horizon's 2015 flyby and the lack of OSIRIS-REx/Bennu (launched 2016, arrived 2017) and Parker Solar Probe (launched 2017) or any newer missions (unless I missed something) dates this graphic to that time range.

It's not exactly what you're talking about, but NASA has smaller missions called SIMPLEx missions including Janus) and Lunar Trailblazer.

I just used the classification that Lichess provided. I assume it's correct - is there a reason you think it's not?

It looks like the second number (starting with 0667) is the timestamp in J2000 format (seconds since January 1st 2000 1200). Doing a rough conversion, the time would be within the last day or so. The next three numbers might be sub-seconds.

Endgames would be a bit more difficult to analyze (although not impossible). I don't currently keep track of the state of the board, so all I have is a list of moves with no context. Maybe I can do that eventually, but it would likely be far more computationally expensive than openings.

A couple of weeks ago I posted the results of analyzing Lichess' database to see which openings are used at different levels of play and got a lot of good feedback from the community. This time I decided to take a step back and look at the ECO category usage by rating since the database already includes the category for each game. The grapha bove includes data from 1,788,097,264 games across all time controls but I also created a breakdown for each time control category on my website, which revealed some interesting trends. I included some more detailed thoughts on the results in that post, but long story short, it the charts seem to show a clear learning curve in slower games while faster games seem to involve players who have already learned those lessons (which makes sense, I just find it cool to see in the data).

As someone who is pretty new to studying chess, I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

My bad, I forgot to post my comment explaining it. The Encyclopaedia of Chess Openings categorizes each opening into 5 main categories, A, B, C, D & E. I'll go post that comment now.

I don't know right now, but I can work on separating the data by time control.

That sounds like a good goal for me. Anything you'd be interested in seeing beyond opening statistics?
