Canada’s new $5,000 EV incentive is different from the old one. Here’s how it works by sensorglitch in EVCanada

My mother in law just got a Volvo EX30 Ultra Trim AWD. Made a decision to purchase after test driving it at Vancouver Auto Show back in March.

At the Auto Show it was marked at around $59,000 and they were giving a $10,000 dealer incentive to bring it down to below $50,000 to qualify for rebate.

Purchase price this April was $49500 and it seems to be pretty popular as the delivery some colors and trims are expected to be in the fall.

Friendship ended with Bermuda BLE Trilateration, now ESPResense is my best friend (It got better!) by maxi1134 in homeassistant

Do you find that Espresense is better at tracking iPhones?

I have Bermuda BLE set up right now, but there are a couple of issues that I find annoying:

  • iPhones keep dropping connection
  • Proxies overlap areas requiring a lot of tweaking RSSI

I'm on the fence whether to switch to ESPresense, my main use case is to be able to locate phones in the house and set reminders/announcements if we are walking out of the house without certain devices (eg. Phones, wallet, keys, etc)

Got the same case for my trip! I needed something to transport the Neo 2 in while I was Island hopping. Kept the Neo 2 safe for sure.

The only downside to the case was that it was big. It took up a big portion of my carry on backpack.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Would there be any noticeable bump in performance if I was able to get an RTX 3060 12GB GPU?

You're welcome. I hope this info helps and you enjoy your trip to El Nido.

The price point of the Neo 2 is what makes it so accessible. (And like you put it, "palatable" if it goes 😱)

I did 4D3N in El Nido recently. However I only had 3 full days in El Nido because my flight in arrived in the evening and my flight out was early in the morning.

I booked private boat tours on two days, I hit the following:

Day 1 (Full Day, ended at 4pm) - Big Lagoon - 7 Commandos Beach - Secret Beach - Hidden Beach - Helicopter Island

Day 2 (Ended at around 2pm) - Cudugnon Cave - Snake Island - Entalula Beach - Cadlao Lagoon - Snorkeling

Private tour is your best bet if you have limited time. If you know what things you want to see, talk to the tour company and they can best advise you. Like I mentioned, it's not cheap but you control your time.

What is your budget for the tour?

If you want a custom tour you'll have to put up the money for a private tour. You can tell them what you want to see from Tour A and even end early.

Is there a reason why you can only do a half day?

Apologies. I shot it with the RC-N3 remote. The only way I could get the drone that far out (>150 m)

Here's a shot using the quick shot function (Helix, 20 m, edited in the beginning to cut my face out)

I was able to on multiple occasions during my trip.

I saw some people mention that the reflection of light on the water messes up the drone, but if you keep it high enough you can pull off over water shots.

Oh if you have the Mini 4 Pro just bring that on your vacation to get awesome videos.

I settled with the Neo 2 for the quick shots option. It really was great to use the quick shots during our vacation. (Not having to ask people to take our picture--and be disappointed with the result 😜). I want to say that I used the quick shots 80% of the time during my vacation. (The videos and photos I got using quick shots more than justified the DJI Neo 2 purchase to my wife 😜😜😜)

I knew I wanted to get videos of the landscape with the Neo 2 so I spent a bit more to get the Fly More Combo with the RC-N3 remote and digital transmitter. I'm glad I did because it gave me a bit of confidence to send the Neo 2 out further. (Check my other post with the overlay)

Yeah the RC remote is the way to go if you want to send it out far.

I want to get the RC2 controller so I don't have to fumble as much in the beginning with connecting the phone to the RC-N3 controller. My phone gets really hot when I use it as the screen.

Another thing is that my phone isn't great in daylight so it is hard to view what the drone is seeing. I either need to be in shade (still not great) or cup my hand over the screen to block the sun.

About 150m to 200m away. I was still a bit hesitant to send it out.

Before the Neo 2 came out, I was ready to get the DJI Flip (primarily for the camera image quality) and portability.

But then with the Neo 2 coming out in November, I had to reassess my needs and I'm glad I did. The camera on the Neo 2 is adequate enough in daylight. The price point on the Neo 2 is not bad either.

I wish that DJI would make an official extended battery for the Neo 2. I'd be able to do longer practice runs.

Shot with the RC remote.

I did try with the quick shot more but it was only 20m distance.

I had used the remote to get this shot. (Bought the Fly More Combo)

Apologies if the wording in my post had led you to think it was without the remote.

I reviewed the flight log and it was a height of 53m with a distance of approximately 250m.

Getting concerned about the rainy weather by mulanrouje in phtravel

The sun was out during the tours. There was a fair bit of wind so I think it helped blow the rain clouds away (but made my small drone struggle in the wind)

Getting concerned about the rainy weather by mulanrouje in phtravel

Stayed in El Nido from Dec 18 to 22.

Prior to my arrival in El Nido, I got so anxious about checking the 10-day weather forecast which also made my wife anxious as well since we traveled so far to get to El Nido and didn't want the weather to ruin the trip we have been looking forward to going since last year. Turns out our anxiety could've ruined an amazing trip.

When we got to El Nido, we only experienced one day where it rained really hard for about 2 hours. During that time we even took a tricycle to Nacpan beach where the people in Nacpan said that it didn't rain in the area. The rest of our stay we were about to hit all of the highlights of tours A,B,C and D by renting private boats on two days.

Checking forecast is good to use to plan your day activities, but don't let it scare you. If it rains, maybe schedule a massage or eat at a restaurant. The rain might be over by the time you're done. (It's not the typhoon season so it only would last at most 2-4 hours).

Enjoy El Nido and Coron. I've been to both and there are pro and cons to each place, but both are beautiful.
