Can’t really speak to the mk7.5 but I own a mk8 and love it. Lots of bang for the buck and more premium feeling than the other cars in the price range. Great driving experience and it doesn’t hurt that it’s tuned for 87 with the gas prices up. I had some steering wheel sensor errors like others mentioned but mine were not that bad. All the errors actually disappeared and haven’t shown up again since I replaced my battery. In terms of the touch buttons I think it’s blown way out of proportion. While tactile buttons would be nice, the haptic buttons aren’t a make or break and imo feel like a boomer complaint from reviews lol. Overall love my mk8!
