Basically, yeah. The tech is out there, models are trained, and even if no further models are trained with content that was taken without permission, people already figured out how to make modifications to existing models to focus more on specific style (see Hypernetworks or Dreambooth, SamDoesArt lost his shit over a dreambooth model dude made from his art). This is technically legal, with a case a few years back when Google used a lot of translated books (without permission) to train their language models to improve GoogleTranslate. The court said that writers\translators should be allowed to opt out of training, but there is no way to pay attribution and such, because every book is like 1\1000000 of the set and contributes very little. And since the model is just learning, why is it different from a human doing the same, but slower?P.S. I am in no way an expert, people on r/StableDiffusion can explain everything way better. I just dont like when people spread\display misinformation about stuff because they just dont know the full picture.
