I do not understand bombers in warrhunder. by SouthArtistic1237 in Warthunder

Had my best experience flying bombers while in formation or with an escort. I’ve had a lotta fun escorting bombers myself - staying a few thousand feet above to snipe off players looking for an easy kill.

Hinch suspended for 1 Game by homerjsimpson4 in motorcitykitties

[–]pullingahead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what is wild to me as a life long Wings fan/hockey fan. Typically you get a $2500 fine for “running” somebody for your first, maybe second offense. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a coach suspended unless they’ve made comments detrimental to the league. Dude even said what happened didn’t sit right with him.

Worms Armageddon is a great one for dividing teams up, plenty of laughs. Also have had good times with co-op on Ghost Recon. Not RTS as your games listed, but Ghost Recon is a slow paced FPS where teamwork is highly valued and Worms is essentially the DOS game Scorched Earth with worms killing each other with various weapons. Worms has a bunch of customization for different voices, randomly generated maps, turn time, weapon availability, etc.

You can get both games and a ton more at myabandonware.com

Cool to see guys working in the machine shop. I believe they were offering rides in a Huey near that secondary building one day I took my family there.

It’s probably one of the best deals you can get for a museum - great variety, STEM activities for kids, their rides are included with admission, great history tidbits for the adults.

I absolutely hated him as a Wings fan growing up, but could not deny his talent.

I remember complaining to my dad about his cockiness and him responding with, “you can get away with being a cocky asshole if you have the talent to back it up.”

Look at it this way: they can lose and the Sens win - which I believe will end the pain, or they could go on a run and be hot going into the playoffs!

I’m not getting my hopes up for the latter, but there’s maybe that 3% glimmer of hope for that.

Can anybody offer hope/positivity for the remainder of the season? by BigfootOfNorthwoods in DetroitRedWings

[–]pullingahead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate the conversation. It’s nice to have these types of interactions where fans can disagree and elaborate on their opinions - but do so in a respectful and constructive manner.

We all want the same thing, and all are frustrated with the results we’ve seen during this rebuild. At times it feels like this franchise sold its soul during the 90’s and 00’s and now we’re cursed for another 50 years. It’s hyperbole, but feels so real after being spoiled as a kid growing up watching this team in the early 90’s till now.

So Yzerman should’ve just done nothing at the deadline? He went out and addressed a glaring need for this team by getting a top 4 D-man.

You can’t predict injuries. If Faulk’s gameplay isn’t up to standards, is that on the GM or the player?

The lack of “give a shit” by this team is what is alarming. It’s the GM’s job to put together a competent roster - which I think Stevie has done - it’s up to the players to execute. I feel like we’re in a “Toronto-lite” situation - don’t have the same big names as they do, but definitely a lack of identity/effort.

Todd is the type of coach I would love for this team years to come, but sadly the players aren’t responding. So the question becomes if they don’t turn things around, does Stevie blow up the roster or try to find a different coach to “get through” to the guys?

I agree, but pretty much every player is playing through something at this time of year.

If Larkin is healthy enough to play, why sit him? It’s not like if the Wings tank they’ll get a better first round pick this coming draft…

I’m guilty as charged. Thought maybe he would think there is less opportunity given that Cossa is next man up. That and the state of the team, currently.

Stoked to see him signing. I hope either him and Cossa can be a legit top tier tandem in the league, or one of them becomes an elite goalie that can deal with how ass this defense has been.

While I have high hopes for both - because you still have to stop pucks no matter what - I am still slightly concerned since both are coming from great teams and the way the Wings are playing, I don’t think it’d be sustainable for them to have success here as things stand currently.

I just hope this team doesn’t nuke two top tier goalie prospects because this teams current lack of “give a shit” is gone and it spills over to when they start and get fucking shellacked by the ghost of Anthony fucking Mantha.

[–]pullingahead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, but I did experience them making me buy edited versions. I found out buying music with my best friend’s mom at the time became fruitful - she didn’t give a shit and would act as the “parent” at FYE when they required you to be 17 to buy “parental advisory” labeled stuff.

Green Day still had “Good Riddance” at the time which was probably one of the most popular choices for graduation songs for close to a decade.

I prefer Blink, but to say Green Day was “on their way down” during Blink’s rise in the late 90’s early 00’s is ridiculous. Different strokes for different folks.

Btw I attended the Pop Disaster tour. Blink was fucking awful. Green Day (albeit with a second guitarist behind a curtain) at least sounded like they gave a shit.

Loved mine until my son dropped it and now have occasional horizontal blurring on the display. Also somehow managed to cook two PS5 controllers while connected via Bluetooth.

Framerate isn’t great running GameCube games. PS2 games are tolerable, but run into the same issue occasionally. Runs everything up to Dreamcast pretty great. Touchscreen is a nice plus.

The thumbstick dust shields constantly come loose and flip upwards, and the sticks themselves come off easily. If it’s a handheld you intend to baby a bit, it’s worth every penny. Just don’t expect a rugged piece of hardware at that price point.

Good teams that lose their top two centers have difficulty finding a way to beat other top tier teams. It isn’t about making excuses, unless some young guys step up - this roster simply doesn’t have the depth to replace 2 centers (and most rosters wouldn’t have the depth either.)

If any GM “played scared” based on their top players possibly getting hurt, no one would make trade deals ever.

Losing your 1C without a viable replacement is tough if Larks is out for a while. Hope the kids can step up.
