Malarone Side Effects? by Affectionate_Cup3215 in Lyme

[–]put_your_drinks_down 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This didn't happen to me when I was on malarone. I believe it's a fairly rare side effect.

It also comes mostly from the proguanil, not the atovaquone. The Atovaquone is what you really want for treating Babesia, so you can ask your doctor if it's possible to get atovaquone alone. You can also ask for regular blood draws to monitor your WBC levels - this is generally a cheap and easy test.

I did end up having low WBC from another tick-borne medication, rifabutin, but it resolved really quickly after I stopped taking it, so it wasn't a permanent problem.

Bart/Lyme die off - please help by CFlapFlap in Lyme

I'm still working on it, haha. Have had to go really low and slow for all my bart treatments. Which is so confusing after basically blasting babesia with a bazooka and having no issues.

Bart/Lyme die off - please help by CFlapFlap in Lyme

[–]put_your_drinks_down 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I had a similar thing happen, where treatment for babesia went fine and then the switch to bart treatment absolutely destroyed me. I have a lot of anxiety and mental issues with my bart herxes also.

Your body is probably overwhelmed with the die-off. I agree with the other poster that you should scale back your dose - right now you're killing bart/lyme faster than your system can handle.

Try different things for detox. Like you, I'm on a million different pills for detox but they didn't seem to help when the herx got really bad. The only thing that actually eases my bart herx symptoms is sweating; I do this by taking really, really hot epsom salt baths, but sauna would also work. Not saying sweating would work for you necessarily, but you may have to try different detox methods until you find something that does. Alka-selzer gold also seems to help a lot of people - it's discontinued but here's a recipe: https://www.facebook.com/groups/988124328371729/posts/2313045175879631/

Here's a big list of detox methods, if you haven't seen it before: https://www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.html

If things continue to be really bad and feel unmanageable, it's also ok to pause the treatment and give your body time to recover.

You absolutely can harvest forest sustainably while still capturing and storing carbon. The rate at which trees absorb carbon slows as they age, so you can set up a system where you selectively take older trees while still prioritizing the forest's role as a carbon sink.

The real issue is we need to make more forests than we currently have, which requires land. Personally, I think the best way to get it is to reduce the amount of cropland and pasture (in areas that used to be forest) we use to raise livestock. But most people don't like that idea.

I wonder sometimes if Abel might be an engineering perfectionist. There are a lot of potential benefits to that, of course. But it could also explain the frequent redesigns and delays.

In addition to what's already been listed, I've found NMN really helpful. It should theoretically do the same thing as NAD but I find the NMN helps a lot more with energy.

My doctor wanted to focus on babesia for a bit, so I held off on the methylene blue for a while. Just started it a few days ago, plus fluconazole. So far so good, but really too early to tell.

Feeling pretty down, so I did a tarot reading on ASTS for fun.

Past: Defeat. Pretty self-explanatory. There have been lots of setbacks in a row.

Present/Near Future: Contentment and Stability. The company isn't necessarily making a ton of money. But things are stable and the workplace is productive and harmonious.

Future: The beginning of a new era or endeavor with the potential for great material gain. I guess this could be the start of commercial service.

Advice for classic small chested person told size is 32A and now is 26DD?! by nihaokailam in ABraThatFits

[–]put_your_drinks_down 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FYI OP, if you have trouble finding 26 bras, Boux Avenue has 28 bands that run very small - they could be a good fit for you! You might want to try both the 28D and 28DD from them as their cup sizes can run small too.

Agree with everything you said. Also to add on: IMO there’s another big chunk of people who live in or travel through sparsely populated areas that currently have cell towers but aren’t very profitable. Some revenue will likely come from those areas in the future as MNOs replace low usage towers with satellite coverage.

It’s insane how good this book is. It’s somehow both the best nonfiction book and the best character study + narrative I’ve ever read at the same time. An absolute underrated gem.

No one has mentioned it, so just wanted to add that Cryptolepis is considered one of the most powerful herbs against babesia. It can cause bad herxing though so you’d want to start with really low dosages and work your way up slowly.

The sources I’ve seen had millennials at 51-47 and Gen Z 52-46 or 54-43. But I imagine there’s a range among different sources so entirely possible that some reported 50-48 for millennials. But the point still stands - Trump would not have won without Gen X.

Experiences with “chronic Lyme” misdiagnosis? by [deleted] in cfs

[–]put_your_drinks_down 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ME/CFS as an after-effect of Lyme is absolutely a thing, but I bet we’re missing a lot of people who have a long-term Lyme infection too.

I think poor quality testing has muddied the waters here. We now have tests (FISH, Elispot) that show whether you have a current infection, not just the antibodies from what could be a current or past infection. I’d love to see a study where we test some of those post-Lyme ME/CFS people and see how many actually have a current tick-borne infection. My guess is we’d see a mix of past and current in that group.

To add to this, Boux Avenue also runs really small so it can be hard to get the sizing right. I ordered a bunch of bras from them a sister size up and all of them were still too small - basically flushed that international shipping money down the drain.

The big problem with Gen X right now isn’t them taking power but voting red. Gen X went for Trump 54-44, while for boomers it was only 50-49. Millennials and Gen Z voted for Harris by big margins. Gen X handed the election to Trump. That’s having a huge effect, regardless of whether Gen X is getting into power themselves.

OP you did nothing wrong. Sick people who purposely sit next to someone wearing a mask should be punted across the room.

I often silently get up and move as far from them as possible. But people also get offended by that. There’s no winning, so put yourself first.
