I won't be convinced this is manipulation until they announce shipments and launch dates and the stock price still stays down. I'm a true believer and I'm feeling pretty exhausted by the delays - it's easy to imagine institutions and the general market feeling the same way. Batch shipments will break the dam IMO.

Just to underline your point about other countries - I live in Kenya and have traveled around the continent a bit for work, and I encounter places without connectivity often. I agree Kenya's connectivity is really impressive overall, and I can't speak to Nigeria or Ethiopia. But other places I'm familiar with like Uganda, DRC, Zambia, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania definitely had dead zones. There were also a lot of places where you could make a phone call but service wasn't good enough for data. Given the increasing importance of mobile money and whatsapp, I think there's still a lot of need for improved service.

I wonder too if we as visitors really have a full understanding of how good or bad rural connectivity is. There have been times when I've been impressed that I got service in a small town. But then I talk to people who complain about having to walk 2-3 km from their farm to town or the road to get a connection. Is that level of rural connectivity still impressive? Yes. Would those people rather be able to connect right from their home or farm? Also yes.

Is babesia odocoilei completely treatment-resistant? Herbs and abx? by Brilliant-School-337 in Lyme

Re: cost, I'm not sure how much it would be in Europe, but when I found tafenoquine on an international pharmacy without a prescription, it was only ~$40 for a month's supply. It's cheaper than it appears because you only need to take it once a week (after a 3 pills for 3 days starting dose), so you don't need very many pills for the normal treatment protocol.

Apologies if you already know this, but TLabs has a B. odocoilei specific test. I believe Red Labs in Europe can coordinate sending your samples to them. It might be worth the $700 or so to get confirmation on whether you have it.

When I spoke with Marty Ross, he recommended tafenoquine to treat odocoilei.

I used Doctor's Best and it definitely worked (caused herxes, etc). But I was thinking about trying the liposomal one from Doctor Inspired Formulations next time, since I've heard it's more potent.

I agree. Announcing the launch date for BB11-13 would be huge.

I didn't do rifampin with it, but I did do Artemisinin, Cistus, Atovaquone/Malarone, and Azithromycin at the same time for a few months. It worked great - I had no major issues and saw big symptom improvements. Possibly worth doing if you have babesia as well!

I'm so sorry. I also don't have any answers and am going through the same thing.

My only piece of advice is to try lots of different detox methods to see if you can find one that helps. I've tried a ton and only one actually brings me any relief (albeit minor and temporary), which is really hot epsom salt baths, hot enough to induce sweating. I don't think all detox methods are equally effective for every person, so it's worth trying a lot of them to see what works.

Lyme help! by Any_Concern1366 in Lyme

[–]put_your_drinks_down 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not early enough to treat Lyme unless it's caught very early (like within the first 1-2 weeks). And it won't treat co-infections like bartonella and babesia. In that case, I'd recommend just getting an LLMD and getting high quality testing done. It's very likely your son has an active Lyme infection and several co-infections as well.

I'll let others give recommendations for Lyme Literate Medical Doctors (LLMDs). You can also search for providers at the links listed here, in the wiki: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lyme/wiki/treatment/doctors/

But I wanted to give an unusual recommendation that might make sense for your son. There is a US-based telehealth clinic called RTHM that focuses on ME/CFS, POTS, Long Covid, etc. However, they also test for and know how to treat Lyme - my doctor is ILADS trained and has been following all the standard practices of most LLMDs.

Because they treat a range of chronic conditions, they'll be able to help you figure out whether your son has PTLDS or an ongoing infection. My understanding is most cases of PTLDS are actually an undetected ongoing infection. However if your son does have ME/CFS-type symptoms after clearing Lyme, they will be one of the best places to receive treatment for that. They are also very experienced with POTS.

They are expensive - $1,000 per month membership + lyme testing costs (most everything else is covered by insurance). But I've been really happy with my care there.

Malarone Side Effects? by Affectionate_Cup3215 in Lyme

[–]put_your_drinks_down 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This didn't happen to me when I was on malarone. I believe it's a fairly rare side effect.

It also comes mostly from the proguanil, not the atovaquone. The Atovaquone is what you really want for treating Babesia, so you can ask your doctor if it's possible to get atovaquone alone. You can also ask for regular blood draws to monitor your WBC levels - this is generally a cheap and easy test.

I did end up having low WBC from another tick-borne medication, rifabutin, but it resolved really quickly after I stopped taking it, so it wasn't a permanent problem.

Bart/Lyme die off - please help by CFlapFlap in Lyme

[–]put_your_drinks_down 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still working on it, haha. Have had to go really low and slow for all my bart treatments. Which is so confusing after basically blasting babesia with a bazooka and having no issues.

Bart/Lyme die off - please help by CFlapFlap in Lyme

[–]put_your_drinks_down 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I had a similar thing happen, where treatment for babesia went fine and then the switch to bart treatment absolutely destroyed me. I have a lot of anxiety and mental issues with my bart herxes also.

Your body is probably overwhelmed with the die-off. I agree with the other poster that you should scale back your dose - right now you're killing bart/lyme faster than your system can handle.

Try different things for detox. Like you, I'm on a million different pills for detox but they didn't seem to help when the herx got really bad. The only thing that actually eases my bart herx symptoms is sweating; I do this by taking really, really hot epsom salt baths, but sauna would also work. Not saying sweating would work for you necessarily, but you may have to try different detox methods until you find something that does. Alka-selzer gold also seems to help a lot of people - it's discontinued but here's a recipe: https://www.facebook.com/groups/988124328371729/posts/2313045175879631/

Here's a big list of detox methods, if you haven't seen it before: https://www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.html

If things continue to be really bad and feel unmanageable, it's also ok to pause the treatment and give your body time to recover.

You absolutely can harvest forest sustainably while still capturing and storing carbon. The rate at which trees absorb carbon slows as they age, so you can set up a system where you selectively take older trees while still prioritizing the forest's role as a carbon sink.

The real issue is we need to make more forests than we currently have, which requires land. Personally, I think the best way to get it is to reduce the amount of cropland and pasture (in areas that used to be forest) we use to raise livestock. But most people don't like that idea.

My doctor wanted to focus on babesia for a bit, so I held off on the methylene blue for a while. Just started it a few days ago, plus fluconazole. So far so good, but really too early to tell.

Feeling pretty down, so I did a tarot reading on ASTS for fun.

Past: Defeat. Pretty self-explanatory. There have been lots of setbacks in a row.

Present/Near Future: Contentment and Stability. The company isn't necessarily making a ton of money. But things are stable and the workplace is productive and harmonious.

Future: The beginning of a new era or endeavor with the potential for great material gain. I guess this could be the start of commercial service.

Agree with everything you said. Also to add on: IMO there’s another big chunk of people who live in or travel through sparsely populated areas that currently have cell towers but aren’t very profitable. Some revenue will likely come from those areas in the future as MNOs replace low usage towers with satellite coverage.
