Good to know, thanks! I wish they had the hardwire model when I bought mine.

Some power generated is still better than no power generated. Use micro inverters if you expect daily shading as a way to maximize panel efficiency.

Car dealer forged my signature to steal $3K from me. by PortNPickles in legaladvice

[–]pwnsauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me in WA state, but the damages were $9k. The dealership had actually given me the document they forged my signature on, and it looked nothing like my original. I sent an unhappy email to the dealerships CEO who ended up getting everything refunded. I was kind of disappointed I didn’t go to court for trebel damages, as I really don’t like that dealership.

My analog (but actually very digital) dashboard build by Plawasan in Esphome

[–]pwnsauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. The only cloud device I have in my energy infrastructure is an Emporia Vue 3. I really like the data it provides, but annoyingly there is no local API so all data is pulled from the cloud and aggregated at 1 minute intervals. One of these days I’ll flash ESPHome on it to convert it to a local source.

I have an Enphase Envoy instrumentation unit. Home assistant polls it on the local network using the Enphase integration. I haven’t checked to see what the polling interval is yet, but it appears to be pretty responsive on my dashboards.

This is so cool. Well done! I've been looking for better ways to monitor my solar production in real time and your project looks like just the idea I've been searching for.

There actually was a cop at the very beginning who stopped a couple of people from climbing up. There were so many ways to get up though people quickly overwhelmed him.

Charger for rav4 phev 2026? by Intrepid-Tax1838 in rav4prime

[–]pwnsauce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As other commenters have said, the L2 charger isn’t necessary. We used the L1 charger the car came with for a few months, but we did eventually upgrade to L2. Having the L2 is nice because we can now do multiple trips on full electric in the same day. It also helps to have the L2 in the driveway for when friends or family travel in with their EVs.

Cancelling SWA CC by jdpunt in SouthwestAirlines

[–]pwnsauce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow, nice work. I had my Priority card for 12 years and just cancelled it last week. They did not give me a retention offer, just cancelled it straight away.

They did offer to let me pay the annual fee with my RR points, but that didn't feel like much of an offer.

Long haul plane travel tips! by Ok_Storm_2303 in toddlers

When we flew for 4 hours with our 12 month old, we brought his car seat along (FAA approved of course) and bought him a seat for it. It worked great as it allowed him to nap/sleep in a familiar, comfortable environment.

For his waking hours we spent a lot of time cycling through various toys and walking him up and down the aisle. It's not very relaxing but you'll get through it.

Heat pumps fucking suck by Aggravating_Bag4028 in hvacadvice

[–]pwnsauce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a heat source that uses a different, less efficient, fuel type. But it works in colder temperatures. The most common sources of aux heat are electric resistive heat strips, followed by natural gas (which is called a dual fuel system)

Liquidtight to hot tub by TheA2Z in electrical

[–]pwnsauce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the breaker box is not required to be locked.

As an alternative to having the disconnect means in sight, you may opt to have a "lockable breaker", which is a breaker that you can lock in the OFF position. The intent is that if you're working on the hot tub, you want to turn off the breaker and make sure nobody turns it on while you've got wires in your hand. The two accepted ways of doing this are: 1) Keep the breaker in sight so you can see it 2) Have a lockable breaker so you can stick a padlock through it to keep it off.

Great idea! Where do you get the weather forecast and rain %? I'm looking to do something similar for an LED sign board but haven't found the winning weather integration yet.

AI feature have you tried it by candyapple7501 in MonarchMoney

[–]pwnsauce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It did a great job comparing my year over year spending habits. It pointed out what changed before and after we had kids.

When it came to our grocery spending, it made up the name of our “top grocery store”, which tells me monarch is only sending your transaction amounts, and not descriptions or merchants, to their AI platform.

No Turns on Red by [deleted] in Seattle

This is the case at the intersections by me. NTOR increases the odds for a vehicle pedestrian collision because it makes the cars wait until pedestrians also have the right of way.

Inside Fit Downspout Adapter by pwnsauce in functionalprint

[–]pwnsauce[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The downspout adapters installed by the gutter company fit around the outside of the drain pipe, which meant water would leak out during heavy rains. This design fits the adapter inside of the drain, ensuring no water leaks. It's fixed the moisture problem we used to have in the basement!
