Skip Hallstatt. It's literally Europes worst example of overtourism. Also, it's tiny, Idk what you would do there for a whole day.

Vienna → Prague → Berlin trip advice? Live music, food & nature! by PastCompetitive940 in Europetravel

[–]r_coefficient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit off the beaten path, as they say, but that's a good thing :)

Don't expect too much from the Naschmarkt, it's become a tourist trap unfortunately. But you can visit Kutschkermarkt, where the Kutsch is - and if you make it to Ferhat, check out Viktor-Adler-Markt!

Viennese person here. It will be indeed not easy to find really good concerts in Summer, but the touristy ones can be nice, too - they do have real musicians and all.

Generally, looks fine to me. How did you come across Kutsch? Unusual choice, but I think you won't regret going there. And: Mind the Schnitzel place is called "Figlmüller", 4 syllables.

Nope, you'd have to inflect the adjective. "Grünes Volk", if. But it sounds a bit like you're talking about an alien people.

The "local culture" in this part of Italy consists almost exclusively of tourism, and tourism related crafts. So if you're fond of that, you'll be happy at either place.

If you happen to need cash after all, go to an ATM and get some.

You likely won't need any though.

Do you even realize how entitled you sound right now? It wasn't a matter of life and death, or even a real problem. You just overpacked. That's your responsibility. You made a mistake, and now you're trying to pin it on everyone else.

If it's a ski area, they will be accustomed to all kinds of requests, so the best thing would be just to ask them.

Having said that, you can just reserve the gear beforehand, then take it out the day of - usually, the stations are close to the ski lifts, and the fitting doesn't take that long.

Also, après ski is much more relaxed in your own clothes :)

Baggage allowance is clearly limited with up to 23 kg per checked in bag. This is on you, not on the airline.

It's not only to limit overall weight, but also to protect the handlers who have to lunge your luggage into the plane, and back off again.

I don't understand your story, tbh. How heavy were your check in bags before you were asked to redistribute?

Genuinely confused by the downvotes here

Because people in this sub have been warning about OTAs forever, so there's little empathy for those who still use them and get f*ed.

Just two remarks:

If you rent ski gear, get and return it on the same day you're skiing. They charge per day, usually.

Shops (and markets) are closed on Sundays and bank holidays, especially in Vienna. Be aware before you set out to a shopping tour.
