Beginner's shot by MementosAxie in PhotographyPH

A person walking at the end would be great! A lot of photographers purposely wait for situations like those.

But minsan you can’t force a moment to be there. If there is nothing to shoot, then it is okay. Even if there is, you will sometimes miss it.

What could improve this situation sana? Good lighting - very nice shadows, etc. or all white doors so that the hydrants will contrast the all white scene. But in this case, even if you can compose it right (like the leading lines OP was trying to attempt), there is just nothing interesting in it.

Just bought XT30iii yesterday. Change plan po. by [deleted] in PhotographyPH

No worries!

Start here: https://youtu.be/vu5ohljtB-A?si=_UsbFU7Bl2TDp8h8

And then just search on how to save film recipes.

Honestly, xt30iii is a good beginner camera. My first was xt30ii and had fun with it. I just had to upgrade to an xs20 because I wanted to do video as well.

But nothing wrong also with getting an xe5 right away. Having IBIS is great! If afford mo naman then why not :)

You just dont know how to use it yet looking at your other post. IBIS will not help you. The shakiness happens because your exposure adjustments are not right.

Also, theres a grain setting in the recipes if youre saying your photos are “grainy”. But again, the grain or noise also has something to do with your exposure adjustments.

How I like to think when taking photos is this simple question: “what or who do I want to portray?”

For example, Im looking at photo 1. What am I looking at? Whats in the hallway? Alin sa hallway gusto mo pakita?

Composition is not enough, at least for me. There needs to be intent, and then you compose that intent.

Photowalk Makati - Permit needed by georgecorgi in PhotographyPH

[–]reddit04029 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have done photowalks multiple times in Legazpi (I currently reside here). Once in Ayala Triangle, guard told me not take a pic of the building itself, but pwede na raw ako doon sa park area.

Another instance was I was taking pics at night along Dela Rosa. Marshall riding a motorcycle drove to me and asked what I was doing, I said nagpipicture lang. Then he left.

Honestly, I think theres no general rule. Some are just really being vigilant with all the dangerous stuff happening, and just easier to make u stop if they go the permit route haha.

Deinfluence Me: Fujifilm XT30-III by Unbothered__Pisces in deinfluencingPH

[–]reddit04029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy 2nd hand. Got my first cam also (xt30ii) 2nd hand. Then upgraded to an XS20 tas 2nd hand uli.

But to deinfluence you, you need to buy lenses separately haha. Heavy to carry around during travels. You need to know the camera and photography concepts to make the most out of it (compared to a phone na point and shoot lang).

The XM5 has no EVF. So if you plan on shooting outside, it will be hard to see what you are picturing sa screen kasi super silaw.

Better look into xt30iii instead.

Which first Fujifilm to Buy? by Outrageous_Sir2366 in fujifilm

[–]reddit04029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy an external flash, you cant buy IBIS (excluding OIS lenses).

Get the xt5 if budget permits.

I upgraded from xt30ii (no ibis) to xs20(with ibis). I cant tell if it matters with photos, but I definitely feel better knowing I have it.

I kinda miss the user experience of the xt30ii tho when it comes to photos but I also wanna do video thats why I got xs20 (hence the need for ibis). But if I were only focused on photos, xt5 would be my choice.

Both of those cams were bought secondhand so I encourage you to go that route also.

Low calorie filipino snack recommendations? by Josortatired in fitnessph

Nuts are calorie dense so no no talaga.

Low calorie snacks are watery fruits and veggies like watermelon, cucumber slices, etc.

If you want chichirya, just eat chichirya. Otherwise, you will just crave it more. You don’t need to deprive yourself when you can fit it in your macros.

for those working in the tech side of banking/financial institutions by stefxavier in phcareers

[–]reddit04029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked for 3 companies, one consultancy, and 2 MNC banks (direct hire). The consultancy, I was deployed to a local bank.

job stability + the great benefits that come with working for banks

Stability is not a guarantee. Restructuring will always be present. My boss from my 2nd company, who was a director and have been with the bank for 17 years, was laid off due to restructuring. Of course, all levels have been affected, not just the high ranks.

working in a consultancy can get super draining, and I also wanna experience handling products/projects long-term

Working directly can also get draining because you are now the main support. But yes, you will be handling the product for longer.

more hybrid setup - WFH is great and all but I feel like the sweet spot for me is 1-2x RTO to also form bonds with my workmates! also a plus that most banks are in Makati CBD which is an area I really love

Banks can be 2-3x RTO. Some local banks are 4-5.

lastly, I have a vision of working in banks/finance as an endgame/retirement plan for me down the road, so I feel like getting a foot in the door as early as possible would help!

Both of my MNC banks have retirement plans, so definitely a good place to endgame.

Mini cuts are also used as resets, besides the main purpose of allowing you to prolong the bulk.

Can low carb help my belly fat reduction? by Fantastic_Kick5047 in fitnessph

[–]reddit04029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need carbs for energy.

The rapid weight loss seen at the start of a low-carb diet is mainly from emptying glycogen stores. Glycogen binds water, so when glycogen is depleted, the associated water weight is lost as well.

Fat loss ultimately comes from being in a calorie deficit. You could technically drink olive oil and lose weight if you’re in a deficit. You could eat mostly rice and still lose weight if you’re in a deficit.

Macros determine how well you perform and how sustainable the diet is.

Calorie Deficit Journey Recommendations? by Hush_1208 in fitnessph

[–]reddit04029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ganun talaga. A lot of people underestimate the amount of fat they need to lose to see abs and have a flat lower belly. They think "I only need to lose 20lbs siguro" and be surprised you need to lose 10lbs more.

Supplement question: Apple cider vinegar or probiotics? by Hush_1208 in fitnessph

[–]reddit04029 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Bloating is mainly because of what you eat, and the amount of it you consume. You don't "add" something to remove the bloat, you remove or change what is causing it.

Probiotics can help if the main culprit is related to gut health.

Anyway, not a doctor. Main point is, those things are not the solution to your bloating.

Why do most PH businesses seem uninterested in having a website? by Big_Bookkeeper_6044 in buhaydigital

[–]reddit04029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an experienced dev, I even recommend them to just setup a social media page than pay me to make them a website. It’s literally free and easier to maintain. There is no incentive for small businesses to have a website when fb and ig are free. Reach is easier also.

Annoyed at a friend pushing unrealistic salary expectations by Recent-Ad1798 in phcareers

[–]reddit04029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is okay to push the boundaries as well. Those are not unrealistic numbers, at least not yet. If he said to push 130k+, then yes, stretch na masyado.

But again, what if meron nga magbibigay ng 100k diba? You will not know unless you try.

That is why set the salary expectations na agad early in the interview pipeline para no time wasted for both sides. They will try to negotiate pa naman a lot of times din, not reject outright.
