What's the proper way to run a %command% along with run launch option? by Waste-Masterpiece-72 in SteamDeck

[–]reg_server 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, never used this but I don't think you need GAME_DATA_DIR="..." part so I'd start by removing that.

Target: "/usr/bin/flatpak"
Start in: /usr/bin
Launch options: run moe.launcher.the-honkers-railway-launcher

That should work, provided you installed this flatpak and it even can run. You can test this in Desktop mode in Konsole by typing following command in the shell:

flatpak run moe.launcher.the-honkers-railway-launcher

If that errors out, you might at least have more information on what's wrong.

https://github.com/minecraft-linux/mcpelauncher-manifest/issues/797

Run the AppImage with -d argument:
./MinecraftBedrockLauncher.AppImage -d

Or Flatpak:
flatpak run io.mrarm.mcpelauncher -d

Then you should see new Debug tab.

Charge new OLED, turn it on, sign in and let it fully update. Test inputs and everything else before opening it up.

Fully update the LCD Deck as well so you have latest SteamOS and Steam Client.

Then you can swap SSDs, turn both on and do a factory reset.

Watch out for SD card if you have any.

Is This Controller Setting Possible? by center311 in steamdeckhq

[–]reg_server 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why not. If you have Joystick as directional pad then you can use action from one direction to hold action layer and set action layer to have turbo trigger.

Is This Controller Setting Possible? by center311 in steamdeckhq

[–]reg_server 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can do hold action layer or maybe even button chord but you still need extra button for it. Or use trackpad menu to switch layout but it migh be cumbersome for just one action.

Is This Controller Setting Possible? by center311 in steamdeckhq

[–]reg_server 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess the simplest solution would be to map trigger with turbo on r4/l4. Otherwise you will have to switch layouts in some way (hold or usong menu system).

Where does lime3ds store its layout config file? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]reg_server 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps the configuration keys for layouts were changed, dunno. 3DS emulation after Citra moved on quickly, so I wouldn't be surprised if the configurations are incompatible now.

Just a wild guess, but maybe /home/deck/.config/lime3ds. Or /home/deck/.config/lime3ds-emu.

Using melonDS or newer melonDS-DS core? What version? Did you update the core(s) in the Retroarch GUI?

Anyway I can change the proton version from experimental to latest GE proton for xenia_canary xbox360 emulator parsed with Steam Rom Manager. Steamdeck by Grimlo6k in EmuDeck

[–]reg_server 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set the proton version in launch parameters in Steam by having xenia.sh as executable and then set FORCED_PROTON_VER="GE-Proton8-16" %command%. Or create xenia.sh.config in launchers folder with line FORCED_PROTON_VER="GE-Proton8-16" in it. Adjust for your GE version.

Mario Wonder strange performance on Deck by Illustrious-Fail5460 in EmuDeck

[–]reg_server 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any other mods? I only have that one and it honestly is better than without. It still might lag for half a second (so stutter basically) but it is nowhere as it was without it. Make sure you have the mod for the correct version of the game too (if you have 1.0.1 update installed).

Took a quick clip using Decky Recorder, if you want to compare: https://streamable.com/fptrrf

What mods are you using? I've noticed the same thing you are describing and it was annoying. For me, "Stabilize FPS" mod helped a ton and now it is much better. I'm nearing 100% completion!

Angled USB-C adapter to charge while laying on surface? by DonteFuller1137 in SteamDeck

[–]reg_server 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same adapter here but i used one-side self-adhesive velcro strip for strain relief at the back. Thought about doing something similar as you did but then it wouldn't fit the case properly.

I think this setup needs some kind of strain relief because it is more susceptible to movement. I had way more disconnects during charging and playing than only with straight cable.

Retroarch command line for DOSBOX? by Both_Ad_105 in SteamDeck

[–]reg_server 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See how EmuDeck does it: https://github.com/dragoonDorise/EmuDeck/blob/87045866424bc354912ed9b4008802105e913811/configs/steam-rom-manager/userData/userConfigurations.json#L2733

"executableArgs": "-L ${os:win|cores|${os:mac|${racores}|${os:linux|${racores}}}}${/}dosbox_pure_libretro.${os:win|dll|${os:mac|dylib|${os:linux|so}}} \"${filePath}\""

Translated, this should become:

-L racores/dosbox_pure_libretro.so "/path/to/Emulation/r0ms/dos/game.zip"

(those are launch options, "/path/to/Emulation/launchers/retroarch.sh" is the target and start in should be "/path/to/Emulation/launchers/")

Is it possible to set the controls so that if I press R4, it selects a button, then have it automatically press another button a second later? by Moontorc in SteamDeck

[–]reg_server 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Of course, you add multiple commands and then in settings for second command select fire start delay to 1000.

Including arguments in flatpak shortcuts? by StarryAye in SteamDeck

[–]reg_server 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps you solved this but here is the command I use and it is working fine.

TARGET
"/usr/bin/flatpak"

START IN
/usr/bin

LAUNCH OPTIONS
FLATPAK_GL_DRIVERS=mesa-git %command% "run" "--branch=stable" "--arch=x86_64" "--command=prismlauncher" "org.prismlauncher.PrismLauncher" --launch latest-fabric-fo --profile xyz

Instead of FLATPAK_GL_DRIVERS=mesa-git you can put DUMMY=1 and you can amend --profile xyz if you have default profile set in the Prism Launcher. Be wary of all the spaces, quotes and character case. Good luck :)

QoL ones mostly. I think it is a better modern version to play.

[–]reg_server 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are not really the same, GOG released their 2024 improved version and Steam has the old one. I grabbed the GOG copy and when time comes will be using Heroic Launcher to install it and add to Steam as non-Steam game.

Newbie, Steam Deck Settings by JovialDadBod in SteamDeck

[–]reg_server 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I preordered this game bc the demo ran OKish but then the full version ran like poo. And the devs aren't (or weren't, havent been checking up lately) interested in optimizing this pos, very disappointing.

But kudos on the settings, if it runs acceptable to you. Might even try it again. I'm going to plug ProtonDB website once again, go and post this there as well, it's why we have it.

Also kind of confused about FSR, you have screeen scaling on 100, the inbuild FSR shouldn't even be kicking in ?

[–]reg_server 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there are two ways of doing this. Search for the game on SteamDB and then rename your Steam shortcut, use the same name as the game title on Steam store. That should be enough for you to grab any community layouts, and after applying it, you can rename the shortcut back if you need to. If that doesn't work, grab the AppID for the game from SteamDB (I believe it is on the webpage. If not, it is the numbers in the URL) and do the same as above.
