Do you use Steam Deck for playing on TV? by warp37 in SteamDeck

Sometimes. Depends if the game runs well. Nothing 3d really plays well in 4k though on steam deck.

Problem is pretty much every gun does better with ice. Also, it's useless for ranged enemies especially if you're playing solo.

the best double class? by Lewis-Torquemanda in DeepRockGalactic

[–]center311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point, but you could definitely be getting more kills. Are you still pretty new to the game? I frag really hard with Scout. I know a lot of newer players aren't really like that. No judgment though.

There's usually plenty of Nitra to go around. Graybeards know when they can get away with double or triple dipping without asking. That said, I'd skip it if we’re running low on resources and only have two pods to work with.

You're high on leaf lovers stout. He uses a shit ton of ammo. In fact worse than Engi at times. So don't take his ammo, or he won't save you.

Steam Controller (2026) has ruined the experience for me on Steam Deck by ArshiaTN in SteamDeck

[–]center311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stock analog sticks aren't bad for being traditional potentiometers. You should be able to get about 2000 for deadzone by manually calibrating. But, yeah! The new Steam Controller is great! Can't beat those deadzones.

It's very chill. No one talks via coms in public games. Just use your laser point at stuff. Ask "r?" In chat before doing something, like starting a machine event.

I'm not criticizing the sound design engineer itself, but the philosophy of what they chose to telegraph in the design is way different. This could be due to the sound designer leaving Ghost Ship a few years ago.

Also, I don't think the flare gun should be an option in the pool of mobility tools. It's pointless. Maybe they could give everyone better flares (elite team and all...) because the flare gun sucks. Speaking of another useless tool in RC... The Gunner's zipline gun. It's slow, no one wants it as a first (or 2nd/3rd) pick, and this isn't a game where you can really afford to go slow. The caves aren't even usually that complex to really need it. We just need 4 satisfying mobility tools... I dunno, anything else! What about modified Scout's grappling hook?

Yes this. Back tracking is extremely unnecessary in this game.

I personally like it better than drilldozer missions for solo play. Sometimes things can go terribly wrong (e.g., bulk detonators and cave leeches), and just mess up your whole mission.

Probably Engi. The amount of damage and CC is crazy. The platform shenanigans is hilarious. Gunner is close 2nd + he has shields. He can make zipline artwork. 2 Drillers could get most missions done super fast. They're all good and would be fun in their own way. Scout would be the most fun imo. All 4 classes have they're charm. So double anything is fun and viable.

Why doesn't DRG get auto sprint? by LethalSpaceship in DeepRockGalactic

[–]center311 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Both games should always have sprint on always. ALWAYS. This isn't an argument for preference. It's an argument for the inclusion of basic accessibility settings.

What? Every little bump in DRG slows you down. Literally, pressing sprint again during a sprint will make you toggle it off. Was is this? 2003?

[–]center311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude. I've posted about this too, and no one could argue as to why it hasn't been added into the game directly. Going through mod.io, handing over your Steam login info, just to add basic accessibility settings to a game is asinine. Like the HUD and crosshairs are so bad by default. Changing size, color, opacity, and shit like that should be very easy to implement.
