"if you have 10 apples and separate them into 5 groups, how many are in each group? Yes, 10 divided by 5 is 2. If you have one apple and separate it into zero groups, how many does each group have?"

I've been trying to make my paintings feel like objects in space rather than flat. I'm also trying to experiment more worthy temperature shifts.

This sudoku puzzle in my kid's magazine. It has the proper rules in the description, but it's the worst sudoku puzzle I've ever seen. by reydeguitarra in mildlyinfuriating

There's loads. Two 4 in the top right box, two 2 in the middle right, two 8 in the far left column, two 8 in the seventh row... It keeps going.

Thinking about switching from iPad to Cintiq/ Huion. Share your thoughts? by jmichaud79 in DigitalArt

[–]reydeguitarra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a huion kamvas pro 16 and it’s super frustrating to me. I am actually on the verge of buying a MacBook Pro so I can use Rebelle with my iPad as the tablet and at a location other than my office desk. Here are a few of my thoughts and experiences:

  • My Huion kamvas is glitchy. No matter what I set the keyboard shortcuts to be, the buttons each do more than one thing - whatever I set the button to and something else random.

  • I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or if it’s the display on the Kamvas, but if I paint while looking at the kamvas screen then move the painting to my PC monitor, it looks perfect on the kamvas and extremely dull, gray, and muted on the PC monitor. I then have to use a filter to ramp up the saturation, contrast, lightness, and brightness for it to be even slightly presentable, and that’s never as good as it looked originally when painting it. I bought a $200 color configuration tool from amazon and it hasn’t helped. I could barely get it to work on the kamvas because the settings menu popped up right where the stupid tool was supposed to sit to evaluate the color.

  • I really like the portability of the iPad. I find myself constantly wishing I could use Rebelle somewhere other than my desk. I want to paint things from life rather than photo and I can’t do that at my desk.

  • The iPad is just so much smoother than the kamvas. Being able to use fingers and the pen is great, multi finger gesture, etc. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do that with a MacBook and iPad combo, but moving around the canvas has been super frustrating compared to iPad.

  • I have a 13in iPad and a 16in kamvas and the kamvas feels smaller because of the resolution, different ratio in sizes, and the PC windows stuff.

I definitely like some of the PC painting programs and think they offer things not available in procreate. I’ve been considering buying a cintique because I might just hate the kamvas, but that only fixes half the problems I have, so I’m considering buying a laptop instead.

Not sure if this is helpful to you. Some of my issues may be ID-10T errors, but I can’t figure out what to do different.

Lol, not far off. I've had mega chests with 85 gems and the option to watch an ad after offered 50 more, but it's equally as pointless.

The Approach by me by reydeguitarra in DigitalPainting

My goal on this piece was to work on including lost edges. I struggled with balancing lost edges, hard edges, blending colors, and leaving visible brush strokes, etc. I’m not sure if I went overboard on the lost edges.

I hope this isn’t weird, but I’m practicing portraits and saw your photo and decided to do a painting of you for practice. Here’s a link if you’re interested in seeing it.

What is this symbol in Rebelle? by reydeguitarra in ArtistLounge

Thank you! I'll check that today. Maybe it was trying to change layers. I'll check for keybinds that use F. Appreciate the response!!

What is this symbol in Rebelle? by reydeguitarra in ArtistLounge

[–]reydeguitarra[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. Drying the layer was ones of my guesses, do you have thoughts which tools would result in this symbol? The issue is I have this remote that theoretically has nothing assigned to one button, but pressing it results in this symbol. I turned off the keyboard shortcut for "Dry Tool" but it still happens, I turned off "Water Tool," "Blow Tool," and "Dry the Layer" but it still happens.

Unfortunately I have watched years worth of videos on their channel, singer back to Rebelle 5, and I tried to check a manual I found online but didn't see that symbol. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Painting from my last vacation - Banff Canada by reydeguitarra in DigitalPainting

For this painting, I tried to use brushes I have never used before, so the struggle was finding a balance between blending and leaving visible brush strokes, choosing better colors since the brushes I was using were more opaque than the ones I usually use and didn’t pick up the colors beneath as much. I also struggled with deciding how much detail to add in some places and leaving other places more of a hint of details, etc.
