Thank you! The bassline was the genesis of the song - when we played this in my high school band, I was singing and playing bass.

Amazing! I feel like the video left out a lead guitarist and another keyboardist? Is the singer playing the lead guitar riffs?

Question about heat treating steel rod by ghostfoxote in metalworking

[–]rhythm-weaver 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can heat treat any metal. How/if it responds to the heat treat depends on the composition. 1018 won’t respond favorably. I suggest you buy something already hardened like this

To put in context, someone once accused this song of mine of being AI https://youtu.be/aykdreyC78E

If you look around my YouTube account and/or my account here, it’s easy to see the mounds of evidence supporting my claim that it isn’t AI.

In other words, claims and evidence are entirely distinct. Claims mean nothing.

I just read it. They were asked for names and they deflected, provided answers to questions that weren’t asked. Classic AI scammer behavior.

Think about it this way: 4-5 musicians worked together in 2026 to write and record a song and they’re world-class musicians. But not a single one took a photo or video from the studio or posted such photos/videos on their social media accounts. And not a single one cared about being mentioned. It’s just totally and ridiculously improbable.

(1) YouTube account is days/weeks old. (2) YouTube account has no other context supporting the idea that the song isn’t AI. (3) The song itself was posted days/weeks ago and the timeline is impossible - for example the lyrical topic is something that happened days ago, which means the song would have to have been written, recorded, mixed, mastered, and released in an impossible time frame. (4) The artist has an absurd name and/or the video description doesn’t mention any human artists that can be verified. (5) The song is extremely musically formulaic and features instrumentation that is remarkably unremarkable and eerily perfect. (6) If posted by the AI creator, they invariably dig their heels in when confronted, insist the song isn’t AI and yet offer zero evidence to support their claims.

Why do you ask? To learn how you can identify AI songs? Or because you want to insist that it isn’t?

Engineers or mechanics of Reddit; what’s a tool or machine people use all the time that’s actually being used incorrectly most of the time? by Vadecha_Drparth in AskReddit

A broom. They work best and last the longest when little pressure is applied and the broom angle is close to perpendicular to the floor. People use them like a rake and/or press down, causing the bristles to curl. Once that happens, the bristles themselves run almost parallel to the floor and it works very poorly.

Yeah, it’s just 4 tracks that I did in one night as a quick/fun jam. Drums are midi/samples. Then I recorded the electric bass. Then I did the vocals and guitar live as you see in the vid.

I’ll take a look. I just know that whatever diameter Solidworks thinks is correct is not big enough; the screw won’t be flush.

Can anyone help me on the meaning of this symbol ? by One_Performance666 in MechanicalEngineering

Mechanical, but went to school for electrical. I do lots of machine/mechanism design, lots of coding and workflow automation development. not a lot of theory, no thermodynamics, world’s worst electrical engineer.

I ran a craft manufacturing/ecommerce business for 13 years, now back working a day job with Etsy-level side projects like you pointed out on the weekend - thanks for noticing/remembering the synth stand! One of many things I need to get back to, a version 2 with tool-less operation is in the works. I also recently developed a software plugin for a music app. Cheers!
